Just invested for my first time in my life and put $100 on Bitcoin. I don't even know what a Bitcoin or what the stock market really is.
All I know what to do is buy low and sell high and that's just what I'm gonna do. Wish me luck boys. See y'all in the big leagues.

BashCo is at it again: Now claims Rizun was banned for sock puppets, not violence
Remember when Peter Rizun was banned from r/bitcoin for posting a violent image that displayed a stick figure being crushed? Yeah, apparently that story is being re-written now too. Peter wasn't banned for that, he was banned for sock puppetry and nobody (even him) was told. Suddenly there's this story about "confirmation from Reddit Admins"? I smell bullshit.

Bitfinex is playing a game of chicken with the market/news, betting they can prop up USDT price using their (mostly cryptocurrency) reserves for long enough until the selling pressure blows over.
Up to the point they actually run out of reserves, things will look more or less perfectly normal. When Bitfinex'es funds run out, things will get very ugly, very fast (as there won't be anybody left to buy up USDT against overwhelming selling pressure). Like a chicken hitting a concrete block at hypersonic velocity. USDT will collapse to a price near $0 within seconds. You will not get any warning or time to sell. Any standing sell order you placed on an exchange beforehand won't execute (except for the lucky few) until you've lost all your money and sold off your USDT for fractions of a cent to the dollar.
USDT holders/Bitfinex customers are riding shotgun on that hypersonic game of chicken blindfolded, having no idea how much reserves Bitfinex has and how fast they're spending them. Rest assured, Bitfinex will not tell anybody when they're about to run out of funds. They'll claim everything is fine up to the last millisecond.
- Do not hold USDT (or any other "stablecoin", they aren't, stable)
- Do not keep funds on Bitfinex (in fact do not keep funds on any exchange if you can avoid it)
- Do not get Goxxed

Opportunity to Question CSW this Tuesday - need question recommendations
Hey everyone, CSW is coming to speak at my university this Tuesday along with Jimmy Nguyen (from nChain) and there's always a public Q&A opportunity after the talk.
I want to keep the discussion civil and rational, but I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on a specific question or area that I might be able to get a real answer from him. Don't really want to just be another voice calling him a fraud and causing drama (though I believe the overwhelming evidence that he is not Satoshi).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

KYC is the equivalent of trying to catch pedophiles by legally requiring a body cam on every single citizen 24/7, "just in case".
The fact that people are not outraged by it tells me everything I need to know about the general attitude, fear, and intelligence (or lack thereof) of the population.
We need to catch criminals, but not at the cost of EVERY person's freedom.
Bitcoin lets us transact without permission. Don't surrender this right so easily, even if you are doing nothing wrong. Find out how you can help overturn these nonsensical laws. If you really care about Bitcoin, and the success of Bitcoin, and not just here for "FOMO and HODL gains", and actually see the real value of Bitcoin, then it's worth it to try.
- Who does the FinCEN report to?
- When were anti-money laundering (AML) laws introduced and why?
- Is it constitutional to have transactions tracked by personal identification?
- How can you help bring awareness around KYC and bring an end to financial surveillance?
- How much crime/terrorism does it actually stop?
- What are notable cases of money laundering done by large corporations that received just a slap on the wrist?
- What are notable cases of money laundering done by peaceful individuals that received huge penalties (fines, and prison sentences).
Let's change this, and let our love of Bitcoin be the catalyst for change.

e-mail from Bitfinex, should I worry??
I got the following mail from Bitfinex:
Dear Bitfinex trader,
By now, you may be aware of the events of the last 48 hours, but I want to personally give you an update on what has happened and how we are proceeding as a business.
On Wednesday, April 24th, the New York Attorney General’s office filed a petition and related documents in the NY State Supreme Court in Manhattan concerning Bitfinex and Tether. We believe the petition was based on understandings and materials received by the New York Attorney General’s office both from us and from other sources. Indeed, we had, until just yesterday, been co-operating fully with the New York authorities in their inquiries into and about our business. The petition and other materials were filed without notice to us or a chance to respond to them.
The materials, which do not constitute a civil or criminal complaint are, in our view, filled with inaccuracies and false assertions. In particular, we want to assure you that the allegation that we have “lost” $850 million is categorically false. We have been advised that these amounts – whether in whole or in substantial part – are, in fact, seized and safeguarded in several jurisdictions, including Poland, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and the United States. We are actively working to exercise our rights and remedies to cause those funds to be released. We are confident in our ability to make clear, coherent, and convincing arguments to recover those funds. And rest assured that we will vigorously challenge the false assertions made by the New York Attorney General’s office in their filing.
I am here to tell you that we are good actors in the digital token space, and we always act with you, the customer, as our first priority. We have always taken our legal obligations very seriously, and will continue to do so. We continue to co-operate with regulators worldwide as they seek to learn more about our business. But we will not allow that spirit of co-operation and goodwill to be used to threaten our customers.
In the days ahead, you may have questions that arise, and we encourage you to share them with me or other members of the senior management team. We will update you as and when we can and we will address as many of your concerns and questions as we can.
We have been humbled and encouraged by the support we have seen from our customers and wider community in the face of these allegations. We are here to assure you we’re as strong as ever, we are not going anywhere, and we’re unwaveringly committed to you.
Thanks and best regards,
Jean Louis van der Velde
CEO

Why we are here to stay
I don't want to make this long. Just poignant.
It is a privilege, gentlemen, to play even a small part in confirming your transactions as a miner.
The price doesn't matter to me. I won't turn the lights off even if I have 0.00 returns on mining. I like that I am contributing to something greater, harnessing our current technology to make a world-wide distributed network, in a way that has never been done before.
I know there's more like me out there. That's why I know we're not going anywhere.

How can I do my bit in supporting Bitcoin?
I'm the average joe, hardly worth a mention. I love the idea behind Bitcoin and would like to support the crypto movement. I already own a Bitcoin. Besides owning, what else can I do to help without getting mired in the technicality?
