I don't care about bear or bull market

In terms of BCH I just don't really care about either of these, I just want more adoption and use cases. Bear market would be great for accumulation, a Bull run would be awesome to take profits and see more merchants take it as payment. I think and hope most of you agree with me on this one

Bitcoin is not a 1, 4, or X year investment. Bitcoin is a lifetime+ investment.

I have read too many posts about the dip, about investing too aggressively, and about investing irresponsibly to stay silent.

Bitcoin is not a short term investment. Bitcoin is not a medium term investment. Bitcoin is a lifetime+ investment.

Crypto is an emerging market. It may have as monumental effects as the internet. But, the internet was not built in a day, and neither will be crypto. Indeed, even certain effects of the internet are yet to be realized.

Many people focus on the stock-to-flow model or the 4-year halvening cycle. These do not matter. Even this year, we've seen significantly different behaviour than predicted. Still, this is a drop in the ocean of finance. Bitcoin recently had significant price movement based only on a tweet from Elon Musk. This is not a robust, well-established market. Bitcoin (and all crypto) is still far from its true value.

It is painfully obvious that our grandchildren will use some cryptocurrency as their primary store of value and currency. We cannot say exactly which cryptocurrency that will be, but there's very good odds that it will be Bitcoin. It is far from obvious whether cryptocurrency will be of any value within any of our lifetimes. Do not invest money that you will need in one year. Do not invest money that you will want within 10 years. Do invest money that you intend for your children and grandchildren to inherit. Do invest money in a variety of established cryptocurrencies. Do invest the majority in Bitcoin, the largest existing cryptocurrency.

There are a number of shills and get-rich-quick schemes out there and it's easy to categorize Bitcoin as one. The fundamental reasons for investing in Bitcoin are sound, but extremely long term. Just because you're right today doesn't mean you'll be paid tomorrow. Actively work against hype - it clouds our core message and investment theses. For Bitcoin to succeed we not only need to build the best Cryptocurrency, but also a community which is not culty and overly optimistic, but rather conservative, rational, and welcoming. This is a rare case where your own actions and attitude can affect the value of your investment. Take care.

😊 Turn your loyalty points into cryptocurrency with DragonBite

Dragonbite - Turn your idle reward points into cryptocurrency

Everyone knows that loyalty programs help attract more customers to the store that is why they are so popular. They help to shop to increase its revenue. At the same time, loyalty programs are profitable to customers, as they help to significantly save money.

All stores have their own loyalty programs, there is no unified system of loyalty programs, different stores are not interconnected. It is impossible to send the unused points to other users inside the loyalty program of one shop.

Customers often do not have enough accumulated points to buy the necessary goods. They can't buy missing points or sell extra points. All received points are often lost, because they burn up over time and the person does not have time to use them or acommulate them.

DragonBite was created to solve all these problems. DragonBite is a platform that allows people to combine, store and swap loyalty programs on one platform. You will never lose your accumulated points under the loyalty program of a particular store.

If you don't need the points you have, you can sell them. If you need more points to pay for the product you are interested in, you can buy points from those who have extra ones or exchange them for points from another shop. You will never lose your loyalty points with DragonBite.

DragonBite is a truly open, decentralized asset management platform for loyalty programs of various stores in one app with one password!

DragonBite's vision is to disrupt the loyalty market with innovative business models and technologies. You will no longer lose your points. Thanks to DragonBite it became possible to buy, sell and exchange loyalty points.

✅ Since 2018 DragonBite has been working on a Loyalty program.

✅ Around 50,000 merchants have joined the platform.

✅ 1M people use the platform.

A huge user base and a large number of partner stores allow us to unite the most profitable loyalty programs in one place and provide our users the best conditions, significantly reducing their costs. With our experience and user and merchant customer base, we are ready to solve all problems of loyalty programs!

👉 Our advantages

✅ A Digital wallet in one app with one password.

DragonBite is a digital wallet to safely store several kinds of digital assets, including Cryptocurrencies, In-game assets, Air mileages, Loyalty points, E-vouchers, E-coupons and Gift cards, in One application with One password. It is a fully integrated and decentralised financial services system, which is designed for digital assets management.

✅ Loyalty worth a fortune.

90% of companies have some sort of loyalty programs. In fact, the redemption rate of loyalty programs is just 7%, most people do not know the value of their loyalty points. Users of the platform will be able to spend their unused points to pre-pay DragonBite cards for daily consumption in real life. Customers can spend their expiring points to buy Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency.

✅ Turn your loyalty points into cryptocurrency.

If you have loyalty points expire soon or a small number of air mileage or any old in-game asset, you can convert those digital assets into Bitcoin with a very reasonable transaction fee. DragonBite wallet is directly connected with cryptocurrency exchange via a licensed gateway. It is compliant with compliance rules such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) & the Personal Data Privacy Ordinance (PDPO), the Anti-Money-Laundering (AML) standard and the Know-Your-Client (KYC) standard.

✅ DragonBite is technology advances!

DragonBite is directly connected with Crypto Exchange via a licensed payment gateway. It is powered by a hybrid IT architecture, that is partly on-chain and partly off-blockchain. BITE Point is our universal loyalty token, acting as a medium of exchange among digital assets. It is pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar. DragonBite will deploy Non-Fungible Token (NFT) to handle rare assets.

✅ Travel even more with DragonBite!

Everyone has been staying at home since early 2020 and their air miles are expiring. DragonBite offers a new method to spend air miles. With DragonBite, you will be able to convert your mileage to any other loyalty coupon, to sell it and invest into Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.

Bitcoin is not the (only) answer

Hi, my name is sufkop and I am a Bitcoin (Cash) echo chamber survivor and this is the post I would have handsomely paid for if it would have given me this info a year ago.

I only learned this year, a few months ago, about the wider crypto world. And I am saddended I did not find out about it sooner. I joined the crypto world in 2017. I stood up for BCH, but i missed so much of the rest of the crypto developments.

If this is you, read on...

No, I am not talking about BTC or BCH, i am talking about "DeFi". The world is rebuilding the financial system, just not on BTC or BCH. Yes you can instantly pay using BCH. You can get paid to write on read.cash. Its awesome! I never sold after the fork. People will start using it for sure. But...

But if you want to swap cryptocurrencies natively, cross chain? It exists, its a 'protocol' called Thorchain.

Do you want to borrow money using BTC, BCH or any other currency as collateral? Yes you can! Do it using 'Aave', on Ethereum, but also on Polygon (cheaper and faster transactions), a layer 2 of Ethereum.

Want to buy a stock, but dont want to use a broker? Its possible, using Synthetics or another protocol called Mirror on the Terra network.

Want to own part of a data oracle network? Linkchain and Band are operating and actively building this.

Want to own several crypto tokens but not the hassle of buying multiple? There exists such a thing as index tokens. They act like an index fund!

Want to earn an interest on your cryptocurrency? ANY crypto currency? Yes more than the 0.0001% your bank gives! Its possible!! Double digits!

Want to earn interest on your pegged stablecoin (USDC, USDT, etc)? Its possible!! Yes, double digit interests!

There is even exotic stuff like self repaying loans (Alchemix). Its insane.

Want insurance for all these crazy wacky new tech? Guess what, it exists!! You can actually protect yourself from these things going sideways.

Then there are the whole other ecosystems/chains like Binance Smart Chain, Solana, Arbitrum, etc i havent talked about.

Im not recommending any of the stuff above. DYOR above all. But if you dont do anything right now you are missing out. The financial system is being decentrally rebuilt without you.

If you only take away one thing from this post:

Install metamask. Its the interface for all this defi stuff. Then go search "defi" in your favourite search engine...

Now, dont trust me, go out and step into the new bankless world that is being built, that we are building. Investing your money in these tokens/apps/protocols is like buying stock. You owe it to your self/(future) girlfriend/wife/(grand)kids/family.

There is a battle between shorts and longs happening now on your local exchange. I believe BCH is worth at least 1k and it's being sold off for less than 750 right now.

I know we don't like to talk price around here but let's be real. The price of the coin is important..

Bitcoin is the future (Firsthand look)

Longtime reader, first time poster. I am getting a firsthand look at why BTC is the future.

My wife and I are trying to close on a house and because of the holiday weekend, we were told that we need to wire the money today to the closing attorneys despite our closing happening next Wednesday.

I attempt to use online banking to wire the money because why wouldn't I be able to do that, it is our money.... but wait, there are restrictions on how much of your own money you can wire.

Ok, so then what.... I am told I need to go to a physical bank in order to wire OUR MONEY to buy OUR HOUSE.

One little caveat... My wife and I went to a remote town for the long weekend and as you probably guessed, there aren't many physical branches in remote places. We are now scrambling to find a bank that will help us so that we can close on our house 6 DAYS from now.

Meanwhile, I am sure the bank has had no problem lending out our cash but when we need it, it is a massive inconvenience.

If we lived in a world where we had freedom to use our own money when we needed to this would not be an issue.

A very good summary by Michael Saylor, incl. his chats with Musk (who is more sane than he likes to pretend)

It's at this link. A quote:

"I think it became pretty clear that we, the Bitcoiners, have a good story, but it's a very complicated story. And we need to find a way to share our story and to educate [...] My first thought was there is no point in us tweeting back and forth at each other because I don't think a 288-character twitters are right ways to educate the public and build consensus.

"So I reached out to Elon and I spoke with him and we had a very long conversation and [...] I asked him if he had relationship or had met with Bitcoin miners [...] Elon [...] said we would all benefit if we were able to publish energy usage and sources of energy usage data. It turns out that Bitcoin miners don't actually have a good form for communicating how they generate their energy. We don't have a shared common model for energy usage right now. [...]

"I asked Elon if he had relationships with the miners and he said he'd like to meet them, so I reached out to the miners and I asked them if they'd like to meet Elon Musk, and they said yes, they would. And so we set up a meeting because he wanted to understand how they are mining and what their plans and futures are, and they wanted to understand his concerns, and we wanted to understand how we could be the good guys inthe entire ESG debate [...]

"And so I think that the group came together to get Elon's thoughts and for us to brainstorm on what we can do in order to communicate constructively to the entire industry and avoiding reinventing the wheel, right?"

My experience using btc and bch.

I started using btc on feb, prices were pretty much the same as they are right now. This was first time buying crypto and I bought some Bitcoin as an investment. I actually wanted to use the “currency” to get a better understanding of how it functioned and tbh I wanted to make a in-game purchase. The purchase was around 20 dllrs and the fee was around 10 dllrs ( I don’t remember exactly). That’s when my first doubts on btc as a crypto started to happen (before the whole store of value narrative started to pop up). Months go by BTC goes up and I sell.

Using Bitcoin cash: I haven’t really been spending my bch because I don’t really want to buy anything, I’m being kinda frugal so I can buy etherium and bch and save up to maybe buy an Xbox with bch (although I don’t know where I could). So I have .7 Bitcoin cash on my exchange and I send it to my cold wallet. Guess how much the fees were? $0.067 USD Now idk about the community as a whole but, I’d much rather have BCH than BTC for this reason alone

Officially on board the *true* Bitcoin train

I'll be the first to admit it... I was a die-hard BTC maximalist. I was the type of person who would criticize those who did not have the same "thought" process as the rest of us. As of a few days ago, I have no idea what came across my mind, but I started to explore Reddit and various other means and truly come to the consensus that Bitcoin Cash, in the long run, will be what Satoshi envisioned Bitcoin to be back in the day. Quite frankly, I'm a bit disheartened by how much I tried to deny the fact or even do the research. With that said, I'm glad I took the time to spend hours of research to fully understand both sides and conclude that this is exactly what Bitcoin should have been.

To anyone that I've run across in a rude or degrading way, I do apologize. I'll admit that many (not all) of us on the Bitcoin bandwagon just haven't fully done the research or are somewhat in denial. A shower thought

I just had a realization that Bitcoin core maxis' who down play Bitcoin Cash and will continue to do so as it innovates, meets market needs/ demands and does what it does best (being used and adopted) they are no different than when anti-crypto folks prayed on the demise of emerging Bitcoin in its early years. Its sad that through greed, Maxis' are fine with not innovating but have grown to become those they overcame in the first place, an old man wagging his fist at the clouds. Fearing change, and trying to monopolize (centralize) a decentralized market and asset.

I suspect a friend’s CoinBase account is locked for use of CashFusion

A friend of mine (really, it’s not me) had his Coinbase account completely locked a month ago. Cash balance frozen, crypto balance frozen, unable to buy, sell, trade, withdraw. Missed selling the top and buying the dip. Support ignores, eventually saying a specialist was handling it. It’s been a month. He’s been a very small time crypto buyer for years.

Trying to help him the best I can we eventually figured out the only behavioral change is that he withdrew BCH to an electron wallet and used CashFusion… like, who WOULDNT, right? Privacy MATTERS. This was NOT for use on an illicit transaction/unlawful purpose.

I don’t have proof this is why the account is suspended but it seems highly likely. I’m not sure what to tell him aside from don’t use Coinbase anymore (NYKNYC), but I wanted to bring it to the attention of the community.

It seems to me that it is highly likely Coinbase is freezing/investigating accounts who withdraw to and use Electron Cash’s CoinJoin function.

I’m beginning to fear the dystopian potential of blockchain technology is gaining ground, which is why privacy is even more important.

Dad got his crypto stolen - You can't protect people from themselves.

I just need to vent right now.

I got my dad turned onto Bitcoin and he ended up with a sizeable chunk on coinbase, right? He gets his passwords compromised at least once a year, so being the dutiful son that I am, I buy him a trezor and my wife and I help him set it up.

He's a little upset that he can't check his balance all the time, but I assure him it's much safer in his trezor that's sitting in his closet safe than it is on coinbase.

Fast forward to yesterday. I'm on vacation and he calls me asking why his trezor pin doesn't work. He tells me, "it already had me put in all 24 of those damn passwords, why won't it work?".

I told him over and over and over when I set up his trezor and the seed phrase. "Dad, don't type this in anywhere, don't even take a photo of it". And what does he do the first time he tries to use his trezor himself?

I am so angry and frustrated right now it's kinda ruining my vacation. You cannot save people from themselves.

EDIT: While I appreciate the "advice" of all you crypto aficionados, consider this - dear old dad was supposed to leave the trezor in his safe and not touch it without me. Literally he had an index card with all the Do's, Don'ts, and all that. And sweet lord Satoshi, y'all project/assume a lot.

Seems like Saylor, Musk and the north american minors should have live streamed their meeting.

Seems like that meeting should have been made available to the public seeing as how bitcoin is consensus driven. The fact this meeting was private is a big red flag. Not saying there is a conspiracy here but should definitely be cautious of these people and their private meetings.

Conversation with a financial advisor

My brother-in-law is financial advisor and I wanted to see what he thought of crypto.

Well, it turned out I got him triggered. Here are some key points he brought up:

  1. You don't have 1 BTC so you don't technically own it...
  2. I manage to get 12% return every year to my clients, which is better than the S&P 500 yearly returns!
  3. Look at this Visa card, this is exactly the same thing, digital payment!!
  4. I am managing million-dollar portfolios and you're here trying to tell me how finance works!?
  5. This is a big pump and dump for big banks and Elon!!!

Aside from the fact that he reminds me of old people when the internet came out, here are my takes:

  1. We are still early AF;
  2. People have biases, including myself. But he just couldn't admit that something could disrupt the way he would do business;
  3. The average Joe still thinks that crypto is just Bitcoin and that it has no utility;
  4. Never, EVER, talk crypto with someone who's tied to the conventional financial system;
  5. HODL.

Crypto will change the world in a good way IMHO.

Cheers to that!

PSA: Nodes have more control over the protocol than miners

I see a lot of exaggerated reactions to the news that some rich folks are talking about some green mining cartel. It leads me to believe many here don't understand who decides what makes Bitcoin, well, Bitcoin.

The gist of it is this: if they want to self-impose some rules regarding mining (more specifically: the energy source used), let them go ahead, because it won't have an effect on the protocol level.

Bitcoin is the term used for many different parts of the Bitcoin machine. It describes both the ecosystem, the token, the network, the protocol, etc. Bitcoin is not something straightforward, which makes it so difficult to explain in layman's terms. Rather it is a balanced act of several different concepts, technical, economical and political.

The role of a miner is very different from that of a node. Unfortunately many here fail to understand this difference and attribute way too much power and control to the miners, while it is in fact the nodes that ultimately decide what it is we call Bitcoin. Attempts by miners to assert control over the blockchain have happened in the past, and they did not end in favor of the miners. Any attempt this time around to assert control through politics and legislation won't work either.

Any miner can decide which transactions to include or not include in his block. But one single miner can't mine all the blocks. If the green mining cartel on the other hand decides to fork with their 'clean version' of the blockchain, whatever that means, they are free to do so, but they won't have an economic majority behind them, which means they will lose money, because they don't get to decide what Bitcoin is, nodes do.

tl;dr run a node, read Mastering Bitcoin by Andreas Antonopoulos, chuckle at this meaningless green cartel mining crap, good night
