"Craig Wright is making an attempt to strap the old property (and morality) framework onto a system which doesn't recognize violent state coercion as authoritative, by design."
Tone Vays - "If bitcoin cash had as many tx's as bitcoin does right now, their fees would actually be bigger. "
6:48:23 tone claims that the amount of tx's bitcoin cash has on chain right is the equivalent to the amount of tx's btc had in 2011 and if bch had the same amount of tx's as btc the fees would be even higher.
BTC tx's peaked in 2011 at around 12k per day, with an average of around 3k per day. BCH txs this year so far peaked at around 150k txs per day, with an average of around 45K per day. (source)
The average fees/tx for BTC in 2011 are roughly the same fees on BCH right now(source), though peaking at 10cent in 2011 for BTC where as peaked at 6 cent so far in 2019 for BCH.
Now his claim that research has shown if BCH had the same amount of transactions as BTC the fees on BCH would actually be even higher than they are on BTC:
At the beginning of september 2018 the BCH community began a 4/5 day long stress test, sending and confirming millions of transactions. On the busiest day BCH confirmed over 2.1 million txs and on that same day BTC confirmed 213k txs. https://i.imgur.com/gBtcjUX.png
The avg fee for BCH on the busiest day was $0.0017, where as the average fee for BTC transaction on that day was $0.64. https://i.imgur.com/8NnJzm7.png
So BCH had 10x more transactions, and fees were 376x cheaper than on BTC. Truly amazing, if only Tone knew he might even switch over.
What did we learn from all of this? Tone vays is still full of shit and will say anything he can to make himself sound right.
Why did i make this post? In case there are any newbies out there who think tone vays has any clue what hes talking about.

Are there any concerns about btc.com, the largest bitcoin mining pool after they reorged the bch blockchain?
Their owners showed that they don’t care about immutability at all, including doing a 51% attack to reverse the blockchain and they are the largest bitcoin mining pool.
They also own the second largest bitcoin mining pool. Doesn’t this concern anyone?

BTC supporters lose their shit over a 2 block reorg on BCH to defend against attacking nodes. Meanwhile, a 24 block reorg on BTC to rectify an accidental chain split, where Core devs worked with a single miner to orphan longest chain - nothing to see here!
In light of the current FUD against BitcoinCash....
Let me introduce the overflow bug of Bitcoin in 2010:
https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Value_overflow_incident
Every Coretard that bashes BitcoinCash for stopping malicious transactions is a fucking hypocrite (not that they didn't act like that more times than I can count).
The main reasons for their attack on BitcoinCash:
1.) BCH markets show signs of decoupling (eg: moves against BTC)
2.) BCH transactions stats are on a growing trend
3.) BCH development is progressing rapidly (coinshuffle, schnorr, etc)
4.) BCH has been working flawlessly, even during the hash wars, while BTC can't even handle the little tx volume spikes the network experiences and clogs weekly.
5.) LN is still just a piece of digital turd.

Still a must read to understand the present of Bitcoin: The resolution of the Bitcoin experiment. Probably the second most important text after the white paper.
Bitcoin has the ability to make the government auditable
We would have the ability to see where out tax payments go. A government could be put in place that makes public each of it’s bitcoin addresses and who it sends funds to. The current government refuses audits. It will fight to prevent a transparent system from coming to being. They will be one of the biggest bitcoin attackers. Remember this when contemplating the security of the bitcoin system.

Small pools that include low fee transactions: thank you
If every bitcoin mining pools simply selected transactions from the mempool only ordered by transaction fees, we will have a situation where every bitcoin users will be trying to out bid each other continuously for the next block - or risk having their transaction dropped from the memool ( most wallets might not detect this and might not re-broadcast ).
Some pools decide to take a small percentage of low fee transactions, then more txns with this fee then finally prioritize high fee txns that want the next block.
Without this a proper fee market cannot develop. Why?
Because not every transaction needs to be confirmed quickly, some transactions just need to confirm eventually...
Low Priority: refilling your LN wallet. As long as the txn confirms eventually without dropping it doesn't matter
High Priority: sending 5K BTC to the exchange to sell
By some pools mining low fee transactions bitcoin users that are doing low priority transactions don't have to bid against people doing high priority transactions so long as their txn eventually confirms.
So far I have refilled my LN wallet - when median fees were 2-3 dollars, using 1 sat/byte fee twice! Both txns were confirmed under an hour...
Thank you:
F2Pool: https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/block/577391
HummerPool: https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/block/577472
for mining my low fee transaction.
If you are a miner please consider supporting a pool that has a progressive fee selection policy.

So Tone Vay's 1 sat/byte tx was manually added in by SlushPool. It's the second tx after the coinbase, making it a high priority transaction, despite having such a low fee compared to literally any other transaction in the block. It also wasn't included in a block by the "end of today" (in Malta).
BCH in Seoul
Hi
Does anyone know some good restaurants / bars that accept BCH in Seoul? All "maps" aren't really showing alot.

If Local.Bitcoin.com works as well as it promises, I will start to feel a lot more confident about approaching businesses to adopt Bitcoin payments.
That goes for both btc and bch. The main reason I don't really bother pushing businesses to accept Bitcoin is because I don't have a good answer for how they can quickly, reliably and cheaply convert it to fiat here in Canada. That's what really matters to them.
If local.bitcoin.com makes that whole process easy, cheap, safe and reliable then adoption will be so much easier to sell.

Unfortunate update on Chicago Hidden Wallet
Sadly, we had to "expire" this wallet by sweeping it's funds (https://findbitcoin.cash/places/united-states/illinois/chicago/claimed-treasures/hiding-by-northwestern-medicine-and-stans-donuts/) Apparently, the day after I hid this wallet (affixed to the bench), city workers went out and painted those benches. ugh, timing! Two treasure hunters went to find it and both claimed that it was no where to be seen. Last one was here: https://twitter.com/Jaytron7/status/1132118309686652929?s=20 Well, not all is lost, since the wallet did include some funds donated by the community, I have swept it and moved it over to this wallet, which we will be hidden in Toronto this weekend. (sorry Chi-Town, i'm no longer in town). Old Wallet "expired" due to untimely painting of benches: bitcoincash:qzzl80h4mp2q6ee4g54r6nw5lzdse77g0gqu66mdp9 New wallet is here: qr87749sfeq4vnc5u4xxqzxdfvklxvcmjgz32xe6lc Almost pulled a rookie move and hid the QR code but not the written key. Whew! [link] [comments] |

Looking to try out lightning network
I'd like to try out LN to see the big deal is. Is it possible to do so without running a node and I have control over the keys (i.e. non custodial)? Thanks
