I'm done with Coinbase and their "support" is garbage. I would like to start from scratch on a new platform with a better support team that won't ignore me for weeks-months. Any recommendations?

I heard Gemini and Binance are good as well as a few others but I wanna know which platform has the best support team.

Prompt.Cash - A payment processor that works with existing PayPal & Stripe libraries

Please help us fund this campaign: https://funding.prompt.cash/

One of the goals in this campaign is to create an API layer that is compatible with PayPal & Stripe. That's the first thing any coin which stated goal is "online payments" should do in our opinion. This means most libraries on GitHub for those processors will work with BCH.

More specifically, there are 3 cases to consider:

  1. A payment flow where the lib calls an API -> sends the user to gateway -> gateway sends user back
These libraries will work with Prompt.Cash by just changing the API URL
  2. A payment flow where the payment takes place inside another page via iFrame or JavaScript: We intend to implement the necessary API calls too. However, to make such libs work might require more changes in the 3rd party lib (more than just replacing the API URL): For example changing some JS code how to display the BCH QR code
  3. Other payment API calls for features such as subscriptions or refunds will only return a mock response as they can not be implemented on BCH.

To give you an idea: A search for PayPal returns over 10k libraries in many different programming languages: https://github.com/search?q=paypal
Most of these libraries will work on BitcoinCash by only changing an URL in their code.

Over $40k of CryptoCurrency Stolen

I'm really devastated. Just looked at my wallet today when I was thinking of buying more bitcoin, all to to find out all my cryptocurrency is gone -- valued over $40,000. I spent years earning it and resisting pulling it out, hoping I could eventually use it to pay for college tuition.

Here are the facts:

  • I have a Ledger Nano S wallet.

  • That wallet had 4.77 LTC, 4.48 ETH, and 0.73 BTC.

  • The Ledger generated a passphrase containing 24 words.

  • I recorded that passphrase on a piece of paper and hid it.

  • No one had or has access to that paper.

  • That passphrase (those words) were NEVER entered anywhere. (Not even on my phone)

  • On February 24th at 5:45 AM Eastern Time, the BTC was stolen.

  • On the same day, at 6:46 AM and 6:48 AM, the ETH and LTC, respectively, were stolen.

  • I also has a Trust Wallet.

  • I had $1500 worth of NPXS and $1000 worth of TRX in that wallet.

  • On February 24th at 6:48 AM and 6:55 AM both of those were stolen.

  • The passphrase for the Trust Wallet is saved as a screenshot on my iPhone.

  • My iPhone has not left my possession.

  • My iPhone has a 6 digit passcode.

The recipient address for the BTC is: 3EP2Bq6yMpXQc3TvoxLtwDsd1tg2A59CJs

Note: Both wallets were hacked on the same day at around the same time. Both had separate passphrases.

No one has access to that paper and that the thief’s wallet address for BTC has other larger transactions.

Did not have the 25th digit only 24 passphrase

Can someone please shed some light on what can be done, if anything? How were both wallets compromised at the same time?! If nothing can be done to retrieve the crytpo, what can be done to prevent this from happening in the future.

BITCOIN ban, Bitcoin Illegal, Bitcoin not green and blah blah blah

I'm tired of this media and retarted journalism. They all act like if they know everything about bitcoin, but still talk about things like: the US might make bitcoin illegal and other crap.

They Can't ban bitcoin, fucking retarded apes. Or the other trend recently is all about how much energy bitcoin consumes. Like if gold extraction, money printing (especially you America, with that fucking printing machine running 24/7 and killing the dollar) or any other human activity does not consume something.

Please just tell me I'm not the only one sick of all this attention. I've been in since 2015 and the 2017/2018 run did not feel like this. Yes there was media attention, but it was way different.

What is the best way currently for someone in the U.S. to purchase BCH?

Over four years ago I made my first and only fiat-to-crypto purchase. It was $100 in BTC, from Coinbase, and I gambled it all away. Since then, I lost my job and haven't had the opportunity to purchase crypto, and all of my crypto had been from faucets, airdrops, giveaways, and more recently, selling the service of minting and marketing NFT on the BCH blockchain. Today I managed a small windfall, and that combined with the recent dip (which I see is slowly but surely inching back up) has me convinced that it's time to go all-in. Only this time I've got my gambling addiction in check, and my eyes have been opened to the real Bitcoin: Bitcoin Cash.

I currently have accounts with and am KYC'd with Coinbase, Binance.us, Uphold, and Kraken. I won't touch Kucoin. I also know that BCH can be bought directly from the Bitcoin.com wallet. I know of local.bitcoin.com too. What I don't know is which one will give me the best rate and fastest delivery, as well as fastest payment acceptance. I'm thinking Binance.us is out because they do that stupid hold on your crypto whenever you buy from them (they held my crypto even when fiat wasn't involved!). I'm currently leaning towards Coinbase, but of course their fees suck. I'm really curious to see how Bitcoin.com works, and I've been hearing horror stories about local.bitcoin.com.

What do you think?

Also, BTC maxis need not apply. If you troll here you'll just get a quick add to my block list.

Edit: I went with Coinbase. Unfortunately they don't let you deposit via debit card and I couldn't be fucked to wait 3 days for an ACH transfer. Now I'm trying to get my BCH off of Coinbase, but after I enter my BCH address, the preview shows a completely different address! Is this them converting it into a legacy address or something? I want it off the exchange ASAP but I also don't want to send it out to some random address to get burned.

Edit: OK I double-checked explorer.bitcoin.com and it was indeed the legacy address for my wallet. Damn near had a heart-attack there! Alright folks nothing to see here! LOL

A gentle reminder: Short term price action is subject to leveraged traders who do not reflect the rising tide of HODL gang. Hold the line during expiration periods and know how leverage and options trading work. (Long Read)

For those of you who invest responsibly and don’t gamble with leverage, remember that some exchanges will spot 101x leverage to their clients. This means that some fool with $10,000 dollars can impact the BTC future’s market as if they had $1,000,000. The future’s market is a primary data point for algorithmic trading, so when someone sinks a $1,000,000 leveraged short it negatively impacts the spot price of BTC.

This becomes more relevant during specific periods because of the way future’s contracts resolve, such as at the end of the month and year respectively. The most aggressive trading entities collect as much information on leveraged positions as they can and analyze the market like a house of cards. So what’s up right at this moment in BTC?

Our price action for the end of March, without leveraged longs and shorts is probably about 55k. March is traditionally a red month for BTC but around 59k we were running a large volume of leverage longs. Some investing entity that sees a price of 59k as being premature takes out a leveraged short to profit from their perceived likelyhood of a natural pullback to say, 55k and the house of cards dynamic is on. As more of these leveraged, margin traders pile into the market it becomes more volatile, specifically because of their margin requirements and subsequent liquidations.

Finally, “manipulating the market with strong data and leveraged longs or shorts”. When I observe the price to be above or below my predicted “real value” level, and when I can see or predict the entries and exits of heavy leverage, I can then estimate the prices at which certain positions will be margin called and liquidated. If my information is perfect, I can create an avalanche effect, whereby I see that putting down some number, like $15,000,000 short, with 101x leverage, will create a cascading effect of liquidations bringing the price to its “real value” point of maximum stability and then dragging it lower based on momentum and panic selling.

When all goes well, whether I was long or short, the market moves past my predicted point of price stability and that’s where I can make a shit load of gains. If target was 55k and momentum supports a bear run to even 53k, I just need to try to cover at anything below 55k while being especially reactive at 53k.

TL:DR - Know when futures contracts expire end expect increased volatility. Leveraged trading allows high information traders to have huge influence on short term price action. Don’t use leverage if you don’t have an edge on the market. Don’t panic sell or FOMO big swings that happen during expiration run ups.

And for a bonus: don’t lend Bitcoin if you don’t want people to be able to borrow it to short sell.

Listening to Bitcoin Clubhouse Chats and Cringing

I'm here listening to a conversation between Kim Dotcom and Dennis Porter. Dennis can't seem to get over his decentralization kink and belief that BCH with larger blocks is centralized. He keeps saying that it's harder to run a Bitcoin node now than it was 5 years ago or whatever. I wonder if this Dennis guy has actually ever run a node. I just posted a month or two ago about fully syncing a full node in about three hours using a fairly pedestrian mini-PC (Intel NUC). It's not hard to run a node at all! I truly don't understand where this is coming from. Dennis also doesn't seem to understand that pruned nodes are not only possible, but already exist.

Also, Jimmy Song apparently got so pissed that Dennis let Kim talk. He accused Kim of spouting unspecified lies and ragequit the chat. I don't know if he was just trying to score maxi points or maybe his brain has been addled by substances or something. Jimmy was completely unhinged.

PS: the room was being recorded, so none of this is "private" information.

You voted for it! We are going to build a coinmarketcap alternative with a focus on Bitcoin Cash / SLP and Smart Cash tokens

You voted for it! We are going to build a coinmarketcap alternative with a focus on Bitcoin Cash / SLP and Smart Cash tokens

Thank you all who provided feedback on our previous post, most people voted for the idea of a coinmarketcap alternative, so that is what we are going to build!

Let me share a little bit of what we have in mind, I welcome all your ideas and comments to truly build something we all enjoy using.

We want to improve over CMC. The basic structure of the platform will be 3 columns. The first column will list the coins and tokens with price, cap, % variation. We can leave out obvious scams like Tether unlisted.

The user will select one of the coins on the first column and that will populate the center column with a chart and all-important stats of the selected coin. Under that, we would like to have a discussion section with the same format as a Reddit thread. That way you can click your favorite SLP token on the first column and on the second column you get a chart, stats, and a thread to make questions or learn about that specific coin. The third column will have more information and news related to the selected coin. The thread will allow for tipping using https://tipb.ch/ , so you won't need to set up a new account to receive or send tips on the posts. Imagine a Reddit thread but with BCH tips.

I'm designing it now on Figma, will update this once the design looks acceptable.

The name of the project will be koingfu.com a play on the words kung fu (in China, it refers to any study, learning, or practice that requires patience ). We can have an SLP token for it that can be used to distribute dividends to token holders. The site can generate income from sponsors and projects advertising their SLP tokens. If you have a better name with the domain name available let us know!

https://preview.redd.it/xt4esdmxd9p61.png?width=720&format=png&auto=webp&s=f6b921b89cc4d7a95a4d4bcb9e0e1d1ebf6e532b

Just like read.cash and noise.cash are attracting thousands of users to get started with Bitcoin Cash and install a Bitcoin Cash wallet; koingfu.com will do the same for tokens on top of Bitcoin Cash. So your SLP based projects will be at the top of the list where all these new users can learn about them and give them a try. Doing something like this would be impossible on CMC as the top page is full of billion-dollar projects, so I think we are solving an important problem! Once Smart Cash is ready we will turn koingfu into the foundations of a Bitcoin Cash/Smart Cash DEX.

That is the basics of what we have in mind, let us know any ideas on how to improve it. After the Figma design is ready, I will prepare a proof of concept that you can all test online. And if you guys really like it we can do a Flipstarter so that we can work on this full time. For production, we plan on using NodeJs and make something lighting fast, if you are good with ReactJS we could use some help for the front-end.

Again thank you so much for all the people supporting and encouraging this effort.

The Digital Mailbox!

1980s BlockStream: I got it! "Digital Mailbox!"

Me: Hmm. Interesting. Tell me more.

BS: Well. You get physical paper messages of all types in your mailbox, right? We got these computers and this internet thing coming online...what if you recieved the messages electronically? And securely? Like a digital mailbox!

Me: Sounds cool. You know if I think this through... if this digital mailbox can receive messages it can just as easily send messages too. At all times. And I could send group messages or individual messages of any size to many people in a much more effective way than using the post office. Like electronic mail! Email! Maybe we could also-

BS: No! Forget Email. This is a Digital Mailbox. Its designed to be like your actual mailbox but digitally for the internet 🙃

Me: Could you further explain? Maybe I'm confused

BS: Sure no problem. We receive mail today and the store of those messages is your physical mailbox. Well we're going to need a place to store our digital messages which we'll eventually receive from our friends, family, and colleagues over the internet. Its technology. It's the future. Its headed in that direction. The Digital Mailbox will be able to receive messages from people all over the world. And you'll be able to access that mailbox 5 times a day! Let's be honest people only go to their mailbox once a day. Twice maximum. Our technology will allow users to check the mail up to 5 times every 24 hours! You can't get that in real life because the post office closes by 5pm 🤷‍♂️

Me: I...see. So tell me again why I couldn't send a message with this same technology?

BS: Too cumbersome and expensive for the network. Also does your mailbox send mail? No it receives it.

Me: But I can place a letter inside my own mailbox and lift the stick thingy and the mail man will collect it the next day and mail it to where it needs to go?

BS: Yes and that can still be done today. Digital Mailbox doesn't interfere with that🙃

Me: Yeah but if digital mailbox can receive messages why can't it also--

BS: Its a store of messages. Meant to hold all the messages you receive from the internet. That's what its designed for. A different technology and network "on top of" the Digital Mailbox will do the sending - The Letter Network. Otherwise the digital mailbox network would become too congested and break down if we allowed individuals to send many messages per day. The way we set it up is our current mail system and physical network of post offices will have the specific Letter Network software in place to scan the messages you drop off and they'll upload it to the Digital Mailbox network throughout the day and the recipient will see the message arrive in their digital mailbox safe and sound. Our modern post office delivers physical messages once per day. With Digital Mailbox and the Letter Network they'll be "delivering" your messages up to 5 times per day! Isn't that awesome!

Me: uh...yeah. The receiving of messages seems cool and interesting...But I feel we could do better with the sending of messages side of things...

BS: Huh? Besides the Letter Network, sending of messages can be solved by "side solutions" like a facsimile (fax) machine, or a person can type their message on their word processor and utilize their printer to print it out and take their message to the post office or a private mail carrier such as FedEx. Those large private businesses, in addition to having a robust physical message delivery system in place, will now also have custodial Letter Network software designating them as "digital letter carriers" and those "digital letter carriers" will be able to send your important digital messages to your digital mailbox 🙃

Me: This is getting complicated. At first you started off by saying family, friends, and colleagues will be sending/receiving digital messages for storage. To receive you have to send, no?

BS: I know what I started off saying but the sending part just won't work. But look we're creating a big opportunity for innovation in the Letter Network!

Me: ...

Stop rooting for the economy to fail.

Yes, BTC is a hedge against inflation. But please stop rooting for fiat currencies to collapse.

The collapse of fiat would bring immeasurable pain to the world. Most of your friends and family would be left destitute. The economy would collapse so severely that, even with your relative wealth increasing, the quality of your life would decrease.

The truth is that 1 million dollar btc is not incompatible with a strong centralized economy. Bitcoin has plenty of utility even if the worlds of fiat, stocks, and bonds proceed apace. It can still have massive growth potential without you wishing destruction upon the world as we know it.

I understand being skeptical of the goodwill of institutions. I understand being fearful of hyperinflation. But to chuckle with glee and hope for the world to burn is not a productive attitude. Simply be glad to be involved with a promising new asset class, and accept, WITH HUMILITY, that if bitcoin maximalists are right, it could create a tremendous amount of suffering.

Get rich, fine. Just don't fucking dance.

WARNING! Stay away from Blockchain.com wallet!

There have been numerous thefts on Blockchain.com (previously Blockchain.info) wallet. Hundreds or even thousands of customers have lost millions worth of Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies.

The most recent reason for these thefts is 2FA malfunction. Most victims have stated that right before the theft, either 2FA email has been changed or 2FA completely disabled, after which all funds have been moved out.

https://honestproscons.com/blockchain-com-is-losing-customers-funds

There’s a known 2FA security flaw on Blockchain.com that allows a hacker to disable 2FA without needing to authenticate with 2FA first. This allows the hacker to login to the wallet with just Wallet ID and password.

https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1B7Edd-fj3wSegL2\_JMwKBglPzk3pBG9DUVLuz3HPP-w/edit#slide=id.g848d967a91\_0\_21

Even though Blockchain.com has been aware of this flaw since 2019, it still has not been fixed. This flaw is likely the reason for multiple hacks, though there may be other security flaws in the Blockchain.com wallet. The involvement of Blockchain.com staff or a data leak cannot be ruled out either.

As of now, Blockchain.com is unwilling to accept responsibility or admit that their system has any security flaws. Instead, Blockchain.com is threatening people who have exposed these flaws with legal actions. Here's the example of such a letter and further correspondence with their lawyers:

https://blockchaindotcomsucks.com/legal-stuff

Blockchain.com has also been unable to provide any reasonable support to its customers and has offered absolutely no aid to the victims of the theft. As a result of this, on TrustPilot, 60% of reviews are negative 1-star reviews.

https://www.trustpilot.com/review/blockchain.com?stars=1

We strongly advise everyone to stop using Blockchain.com wallet and their other services due to the extremely low security they provide and the high risk of theft on their platform.

Where are all these bch comming from after 3 years of down trend that it is still being sold in the btc/bch pair. And why is the price showing no upside when grayscale is accumulating thousands of bch and the fact that bch is being used in third world countries. All this while literally every other coin is mooning. Is bch the ultimate shit coin or is it just about following the herd. Yes I care about tech but I also care about the money. No point of being the most fundamentally strong coin and getting raped in n the market by new coins.

The FATF proposes P2P payment restrictions.

The unelected anti-human freedom hating demons from the Financial Action Task Force have ascended through the nine circles of Hell to propose new guidelines for "Virtual Asset Service Providers" and P2P digital transactions. We've been keeping track of this unelected body of officials who recommend regulations since May 2019 and these particular "guidelines" seem to be the most egregious in their attempts to persuade regulators in participating countries to ban P2P payments. If adopted by member countries and their regulatory bodies, this could be the first move towards banning P2P payments outside of exchanges or other entities deemed "Virtual Asset Service Providers".

As is typical with these sleuths, they are hiding behind "money laundering" and "terrorist financing" as boogeymen to justify their Draconian overreach. Since regulators and law enforcement agencies around the world have become so inept at identifying and stopping fraud the whole developed world must suffer with costly regulatory measures that increase barriers to entry and compliance costs for innovative businesses leveraging novel technology like bitcoin. The worst part is, these KYC/AML policies are WHOLLY INEFFECTIVE. The success rate of catching criminals is LITERALLY 0.1%-0.2%:

These policies have failed miserably time and time again since they've been forced on the public beginning with the Bank Secrecy Act and yet these LITERAL DEMONS want to keep increasing the burden on businesses and citizens by forcing them to collect and give up more information while at the same time preventing P2P transactions. Again, this is anti-human and anti-freedom in the Digital Age and we should tell these demons to scurry back in the fiery hole they climbed out of.

How many times must these policies be proven to be wholly ineffective before we begin demanding that they be clawed back entirely? How many innovative companies have failed to even get past the planning stages because the potential founders deemed the compliance costs too high? How many individuals have been prevented from leveraging freedom enabling technologies that could have saved them in a pinch because of fear of operating outside the scope of the regulatory state or inability to do so because of the regulated third parties they were forced to interact with?

We're in a battle, freaks. If the demonic beings at FATF get their way, the only "digital assets" that will be approved for use will be the CBDCs we talked about last week. CBDCs lead to one place and one place only, a digital panopticon that enslaves the human race by constricting free will and the ability of individuals to make economic decisions on behalf of themselves. They will have ABSOLUTE CONTROL and nothing makes it more clear that this is exactly what they want than the new guidelines put forth by FATF. If we want Liberty in the Digital Age we're going to need to fight it. The need for as many individuals to run and USE full nodes has never been more important. Take your bitcoin off exchanges while you still can and start contributing to the bitcoin circular economy where and when you can. The more peaceful and moral individuals that do this regularly (self custody and P2P transacting) the harder it will be for them to take it away.

Despite the tenor of this issue, your Uncle Marty is extremely optimistic that bitcoiners are going to win this battle. The powers that be don't have a leg to stand on, they tend to be the biggest criminals and prove to be totally incompetent time and time again. More and more individuals the world over are beginning to recognize this as is evidenced by the all time lows in trust in government institutions. It's time to be brave, stand up, and tell these demons to fuck off. I have faith that enough people are willing to do that today more than at any point in recent history. Call me naive if you want, but this is what I believe.

11 year old address involved in dusting attack costing millions?

Anyone able to provide some insight in very strange activity I have noticed?

Here we can see a July 2010 coinbase address spend to a bech32 address:https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/address/1H44TbhRh1HVYs1aCP7CcdPZJQkzpdR8fX

... at the same link you can also see that blockchair reports the 1H44T... address is involved in what seems to be a dusting attack.

Further - in each transaction 6 burner addresses are involved which contains the words: "Lets use full power of anonymity See memo dot sv topic hmwyda"

Here is the transactions (receivals) of the first burner address:https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/address/1Lets1xxxx1use1xxxxxxxxxxxy2EaMkJ

As you can see its currently ongoing and going for days involving varying amounts of BTC in each transaction. I am trying to estimate the USD involved for this attack by paging through the list of transactions. I have no idea how much is involved but it seems that it can easily be millions? (I'm sure someone will figure quickly exactly how much is involved).

What can be the intent of this? Surely not advertising as you can buy Superbowl ads with that kind of money. Any other ideas?

Edit:

Many seem to misunderstand what I mean by my "millions of dollars" claim. Let me try and explain... This attack (or whatever you want to call it) can be observed in the second link or this one which seems faster: https://btc.com/1Lets1xxxx1use1xxxxxxxxxxxy2EaMkJ. In each of these transactions a substantial amount of BTC was sent to hundreds of address as dust amounts. Dust amounts/utxo's is practically un-spendable because fees exceed their value. On this last link I shared there is 115 pages of these transactions with 20 transactions each. I used an average of 1 BTC per transaction spent to get to 2300 BTC or 115 Million US Dollars which is now un-spendable.

Edit 2:

My mistake was assuming all funds were sent as dust. This article - https://blog.lopp.net/history-bitcoin-transaction-dust-spam-storms/ (search for "BSV spam") - estimated ~11.5 BTC ($630,000) spent in fees + un-spendable dust 2 weeks ago. Still a senseless amount to spend on advertising so can only assume another motive like congesting the BTC chain for some reason.

Feature or bug? Bitcoin.com wallet displaying the receiving address as “From” when viewing transaction.

I sent some BCH from one wallet to another. In the sending account, the UI displays the correct address as “To”. However, the receiving account displays the same address as “From”. Now I appreciate that when a transaction has multiple inputs, some with different addresses, is there really a meaningful “From” address? I see this behavior on every BCH transaction. I’m running version 6.11.7 on iOS.

So am I seeing a bug, or is the field just not labeled accurately? Like, should it be labeled “received to”? I contacted Bitcoin.com app support, but they said they couldn’t escalate the issue unless I could import my seed phrase into a second device.

The way it is, it’s like my wife saying “I got a letter” and when I ask where it’s from she says “our mailbox, not the top one, but the bottom one.” When she should really say “it’s from /u/MemoryDealers”.
