The Boston Celtics defeat the Toronto Raptors ! .243 BCH ($65 USD value) was sent to CelticsWinAirDrop holders via the Bitcoin.com Dividend Tool... and some Spice too! By the way the score of the game was 112 to 106.
Donate here to increase the pot for the next Celtics win:
bitcoincash:qz3ys6ns3mpxewch3c2mxzvae40qldc9lu0prq2hj0
All funds received on the address above will go to the next AIRDROP.
The last drop was ~90% my own funds so I am hoping to get more contributions.
I was also hoping to use the dividend tool for SLP tokens. I think this will work in the future, but right now I am running into a bunch of issues with the tool. I tested it earlier and it worked fine generating ~7 txs for my test coin, however my CelticsWinAirDrop token requires apparently too many transactions to generate the payouts. I ended up sending every one some spice manually, which took a lot (too much) of time and effort. So hopefully the SLP dividend will get fixed soon so that we can all enjoy lots of SLP tokens in the air drops on Celtic wins. Until then it probably makes sense to only donate BCH for the drops.
Good news bad news I suppose, the technology is so exciting, and it will take time to mature and perfect.
Drop your SLP address in the comments if you would like a CelticsWinAirDrop Token. (Don't use Badger wallet for this. Badger wallet is NOT yet compatible with the token)

How long does BCH take to transfer?
I tried to transfer a small amount of money with coinbase and it's been 2 hours. The funds still aren't there.

Need help
I’ve never bought bitcoin before and I’m wondering how I can get started. Do I need to sign up for an account? I have no idea what to do.
I’m not looking to start buying, but I have a mybookie.ag account that charges heavy fees to withdrawal into my bank account. They do however offer to transfer my funds into bitcoin, which allows me to receive much faster/cheaper.
I could then sell the bitcoin and transfer funds back into my checking account, and probably only end up paying small fees, not 40%. Sounds like the best solution. Only thing is I have no idea how to use Bitcoin.
Looking for help. Thanks

How 4 BTC on the lightning network is likely not lost after all, at least not that way.
Just after u/ZipoTm posted his story, I checked my node logs for breach transactions, but found none. I concluded that I was not party to any of the channel funds he has lost.
Upon doing some more investigation, I have found that I was. But what happened is not at all how the story was portrayed. That kind of misunderstandings tend to happen when you are kind of rash, blame the technology, and fail to acknowledge it was your fault.
Nevertheless, he does still deserve help to find these coins. He still have them, though, at least those in my channel with him, provided he has not deleted anything.
So, what happened?
On october 2nd, the lightning-casino node is starting with an old channel db. It tries to reconnect to all its channel peers, who notice that his state is out of date. This, however, is not the same as a force-close. What happen then is that data loss protection protocol will handle this.
My node sees this data loss, and says:
2019-10-02 09:26:53.429 [ERR] LNWL: ChannelPoint(XXXXXXXX (removed for my privacy):0), sync failed: remote believes our tail height is 0, while we have 1117!

2019-10-02 09:26:53.552 [INF] CNCT: ChannelArbitrator(XXXXXXXXXXXXXX:0): force closing chan
This is a normal force close. A couple of days later, my node can sweep the funds in my end, and does so. A whooping 546 satoshi to me. lightning-casinos satoshi is, however, still sitting there on the blockchain, waiting for it to be swept by u/ZipoTm
Discussing this on slack, and checking some other force closes from that day, we find this is the issue with all the channels we checked.
How can these be restored? Likely a seed restore followed by a restorechanbackup. u/ZipoTm might need to change the lookahead window on the restore, and by all means, *be patient*.
Another possibility is to go back to slack, ask for help. He'll surely get it, but I *would* recommend being a bit less triggerhappy, and it'd probably have been wise to ask for help before he started doing things he knew little about.
Noone have seen a single instance of a channel breach, so likely all of his force closes were actually force closes by the other nodes due to DLP. They are now waiting for his node to sweep them.
Side note: In channels created with newer versions of LND, and probably the others, this extra sweep step would be unnecessary, because protocol was changed to be a bit simpler in this regard, and the force-close-address is now managed by the seed itself, when doing a seed restore. Previously, it'd be managed by another address generated by a special set of channel keys, which is most of the content of static channel backup - these keys.

When BTC is "lost" on the LN network where does it go, lost forever? (Question removed from r/bitcoin)
I keep hearing all this BTC being lost, is it gone for good? That would be amazingly great for the price of BTC, I just saw 4 BTC got lost, this deflation could really help the price over time

I created a token that will AIRDROP BCH (and SLP) to all holders each time the Boston Celtics win a basketball game
I posted the token here in the Celtics subreddit. https://reddit.app.link/RlkWSRUM30
What do you think? I thought this is a fun way to spread Bitcoin cash adoption among sports fans that may not otherwise be exposed to crypto.
Help fund my Basketball giveaway, because the Celtics could win ~40-60 wins this year...

Any speculation on what the next SLP Token listed on Cryptophyl.com will be?
https://i.imgur.com/hKhHiaY.png
They just dropped USDH and SPICE recently. They haven't announced what is next yet, but I'm hoping it'll be the btc2 token. It seems like the perfect match, and it'd be so cool to trade against the value of btc on this platform
I'm really impressed by the Cryptophyl exchange. It's so perfectly simple. I've started acquiring their drop token to get in on those monthly airdrops early, and I think I'm going to hold them for the long term.

“Crypto Capital President Ivan Manuel Molina Lee was arrested by Polish authorities, accused of being part of an international drug cartel and involved in its money-laundering operations using Bitfinex”
Am I the only one?
That thinks we should be treating BTC as an asset which yields long term gains similar to stock or gold, and treating BCH as (no pun intended) cash?
Isn’t BCH’s value largely affected by the price of BTC anyway? (Kind of like how the dollar value used to be affected by the price of gold).
Practically, I would imagine a situation almost exactly like the relationship described above. People sell stock for cash and trade cash for stock, why can’t the same be true for Cryptocurrencies?
This is the only seemingly obvious solution to me, as if BTC was intended to be that way all along. Would make a whole lot of sense to be cooperating instead of propagating the silly rivalry.
Pls roast me if I am way off base here.
Tl;dr - Porque no los dos?
Edit: “affected like the price of gold” to “affected by the price of gold” because I am a donkey.

Whatever happened to Kim Dotcom? Somebody should tell him that Lighting Network is "in beta", not production ready and that "Kimcoin built on Blockstream's Liquid" is not crypto
I'm just dumbstruck by this status of his (link):
Excited about #buying/ #selling digital content using #Bitcoin? Check out https://K.im powered by #bitcoin, #Kimcoin (Built on @Blockstream's #liquid) and #Ligtning $BTC.
He seemed quite educated about crypto vs. pseudo-crypto, about corruption, sabotage tactics coming from high places, that BTC can't scale, prohibitively high fees, why BCH happened and why it does make sense.
Now, he does the complete opposite to what he apparently understood before, just makes me wonder, has he struck a deal with the feds or what happened here? That, or somebody manipulating him? Or maybe just pure old greed won out in the end? This direction doesn't make sense otherwise.
He is also selling his "Kimcoin Liquid tokens" on Bitfinex, I mean, really?
Also, there is this
Will be discussing my new #crpto project @kimcoinofficial with @ToneVays 👍🏻
Tone Vays? It's like somebody wiped his mind or something.
The sudden love for saboteur Blockstream, crippled BTC, unfinished (and unfinishable) Lightning, corrupt Bitfinex and ... Tone Vays, it just seems too bizarre
On his Medium blog he writes this about BCH:
And then there was BCH
While looking for a scalable solution, we even explored adjusting our product to launch on Bitcoin Cash because it seemed there were clear upsides. The bitcoin cash community seemed interested to invest a very large sum and even adjust their technical roadmap to accommodate our product needs. But we also realized that this wasn’t the way forward.
He mentions all the clear upsides and then closes with "realized that this wasn’t the way forward", what? Why? What are the reasons? Does anyone know? Can we find out? Maybe Roger, Amoury etc. would know?
Because this seems like he can't come up with any reasons not to use BCH, it's just mentioned for good measure and given some silly excuse.
I'd really like to know more, if anyone knows. I wonder, did he just sell out or are there any real reasons behind these decisions?

Unbacked LN BTC as a formal rather than informal reality
In the developments that will surprise nobody actually paying attention department, this just came to my attention;
https://github.com/btcontract/hosted-channels-rfc/blob/master/README.md
Referring back to https://reddit.com/r/btc/comments/dc78ik/the_faulty_ln_design_assumption_not/ the only difference between this and that seems to be that it is now being made formal rather than informal.
For those who had difficulty understanding the original thesis and vulnerability, perhaps wrapping your head around this formal form and then trying the mental exercise of figuring out what stops hubs from already doing that behind the scenes as long as they agree to cover each other's debts to the extent channel transactions are processed in a cartel will make it clearer to you.
For everyone else who can see this long slow march down what is now a depressingly obvious path, here's just another point along the series to drive home the reality for those who refuse to grasp it.

Bitcoin's value and trading rate in Brazil is higher
While the economy is unstable in some countries, more and more people get into crypto. At the same time, the governments supports only their domestic currency.
This increases the demand, while the supply is low.
Can we use this? I am a daytrader and this seems to be an arbitrage opportunity.

Thank You /u/Bbblazer and this Entire Community for Inspiring a Newfound Passion in BCH & SLP...
Yesterday and today, /u/Bbblazer has been gifting BCH and SLP tokens to any and all who respond to his posts. I just happened to be studying about BCH on Reddit and stumbled upon his post. After reading a few hours about BCH and SLP I downloaded Badger Wallet and created my first BCH and SLP addresses. I have been a Bitcoin maximalist but yesterday was my breaking point. Due to Bbblazer’s inspiration and gifts I have continued learning, barely got any sleep last night, and am now completely on board the BCH train. I just wanted to call out and give another round of applause to this community and people like him because you all have inspired me to learn and what a gift that is in this crazy world.
Bbblazer continues to give out BCH and SLP. I thought the least I could do is share his own personal addresses below as the more he gets the more he gives out and in turn more people like myself might joint the movement. Thank you again!!

I got banned for bringing up security in BCH. I'm a large hodler of BCH but I really thought this community was against censorship. It's really important we talk about the security of the network & don't censor. I mean ban trolls & angry fudsters but not critical thinkers.
