Some of these films are aimed at the general audience, while others target crypto enthusiasts. So whether you’re a complete Bitcoin novice or a cryptocurrency expert, you’re bound to find something you’ll enjoy on our list!
Bitcoin: Beyond the Bubble
Directed by: Tim Delmastro
Year of release: 2018
The most recently-released film on our list, Bitcoin: Beyond the Bubble is also the one our experts recommend you watch first if you’re just learning about Bitcoin. Aimed primarily at the general public, Delmastro’s film does a remarkable job at introducing its viewers to Bitcoin in an understandable, entertaining, and easy to follow way.
The movie starts off by talking about the various payment methods humanity used throughout its history. Going on from there, the film introduced Bitcoin, explains what makes it a good medium of exchange, and addresses the most common criticisms aimed at the technology.
The Bitcoin Gospel
Made by: VPRO
Year of release: 2015
Produced by Dutch television broadcaster VPRO, The Bitcoin Gospel is one of the most well-known documentaries about Bitcoin and somewhat of a cult classic. Having been one of the first major documentaries to explain Bitcoin to the general public, the film introduced hundreds of thousands of new people to cryptocurrencies. Fun and entertaining, The Bitcoin Gospel is still a good watch today, despite being somewhat out of date.
Banking on Bitcoin
Directed by: Christopher Cannucciari
Year of release: 2016
Focusing on the ideological battle between Bitcoin and the traditional financial structures it was built to displace, Banking on Bitcoin follows a group of key players in Bitcoin and their dreams of creating a decentralized financial system. Filmed in 2016, when cryptocurrencies were only starting to gain mainstream attention, Cannucciari’s film shows the very real struggles, setbacks, and adversities the Bitcoin community had to overcome to make cryptocurrency mainstream.
Ulterior States
Directed by: Tomer Kantor
Year of release: 2015
If you are a seasoned cryptocurrency enthusiast, then this film will be right up your alley. A strong favorite with our experts, Tomer Kantor’s Ulterior States is a documentary that focuses on the fundamental ideological principles behind the Bitcoin revolution. Clocking in at 52 minutes, the movie is very dense with information and juggles several complex subjects without ever resorting to simplification. Strongly recommended by our experts, this film will be best enjoyed by seasoned cryptocurrency enthusiasts.

Bitcoin price rises +27% in the last 30 days
The uprising momentum for Bitcoin has begin, right before NYC blockchain week Just in the last 24 hours alone, BTC has gained +7.5% approaching $7000 And for the last 90 days, had been an uptrend (https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bitcoin) Question is where do we go from here? Is this going to continue, or there will be a knee jerk correction as before... [link] [comments] |
Whalepool leaked conference call highlights
No idea who this douchebag is ranting on the call (I'd call him "Coin Terminator").
"Are we gonna burn it or are we gonna save it"
"It doesn't take academic thinking to move a price up"
"Sell it tomorrow to somebody else that wants to buy higher"

Bitcoin.com price API is returning inconsistent results
I'm seeing inconsistent results when calling the bitcoin.com price API this morning. ( https://index-api.bitcoin.com/api/v0/cash/price/usd ).
It shows a low of roughly 285 USD to a high of 325 USD or so with calls being made every 60 seconds. It seems that sometimes it is giving the correct price while other times it's down 40 bucks or so lower.
I wasn't sure who to report it to so I figured I'd drop a bug report here and someone would notice.

The question is, does bitcoin enjoy a high price elasticity of demand? My thoughts are no. BTC will never experience $20+ fees for an extended period of time. The law of substitute goods.

I don't trust this market uptick, reminds me of the time willybot was buying up all the Bitcoin on Mtgox. I think we might hit as high as 10 000 USD for BTC and then a massive 80% crash. After that, it might be an excellent time to accumulate more BCH. What do you guys think?
Tether acting as a central bank was always going to have ramifications. Bitfinex and Binance might both not be solvent without Tether acting as central bank. It feels like the market is supported by trust, but not the trust that comes from decentralisation. The trust from a bunch of shady guys that have a lot of grip on the market through Tether and their louchy exchanges.
Of course these are all feelings, I might be 100% incorrect. We will see.
What do you guys think?

CZ apologizes for considering reorg
https://www.binance.com/en/blog/333497959022997504/Binance-Security-Incident-Update
We will maintain constant communication with our community. I (CZ) am active on Twitter. In fact, some people even say I tweet too much. But my role is a facilitator and communicator. Honestly, I am not writing code or debugging servers. Given how much I talk, I sometimes say the wrong stuff, dirty words like “reorg”, for which I apologize.

$6400 was the official end of the bear market.
Lots of technical indicators and historical data signals for an actual bull market through out the world is based on the lowest price point of the bear market being doubled. The lowest it got on CMC was 3200, hitting 6400 today... Remember this day boys & girls. We'll laugh at how cheap this btc is...
Edit: I should note I have significant buy orders at $5800

If a Bitcoin transaction were written as a letter, would it look something like this?
So, I've been studying Bitcoin and the Blockchain for a few days now, trying to understand all the concepts. Here is my current understanding of a transaction in the form of a personal letter. Please correct me if I'm missing anything important, or got an idea wrong.
Hello world,
This is transaction Z.
I want to send 1 BTC to address X.
I will fund this transfer by drawing on unspent transaction outputs A, B, and C.
I have provided the digitally signed public keys associated with these three utxos.
Here is a transaction fee of .0001 BTC so that someone out there checks and processes my transaction within a reasonable amount of time.
Please send any change to address T.
Yours truly,
- Some IP address

Gemini Exchange quietly doubled their trading fee today
Buried in their terms of service changes, which just appeared today along with a major UI overhaul, is this new fee schedule: https://gemini.com/web-fee-schedule/#web-fee-schedule
1.49% "transaction fee" plus a .5% "convenience fee". It was previously a flat 1%. Now I have to look for a new onramp.
Are other Gemini users as bothered by this as I am? I don't know what annoys me more: the fact that they doubled the fee during an exciting time for the market, or the fact that they were so quiet about it.
(Note: the fee change does not apply if you're on their ActiveTrader platform, which I haven't looked into but they are oddly coy about it - "Want access to ActiveTrader™? Please contact Gemini Customer Support")

My advice is if you get these messages and you think they are scams is to report them to Reddit.
