There are many different factors to consider, and a significant amount of information to absorb to ensure you have performed your due diligence. We don't need more "troll-identifiers". That's not how you welcome new users.
There's a post in particular made today harassing multiple users (including me since I came to their aid) that I have in mind. An entire hissy-fit based on one thing, someone who hasn't been around as long as the OGs who uses the word BCash nonchalantly. Not giving a name, because that would add to the problem.
There's also a lot of put-downs in the comments sections of post just half-heartedly smearing people with the "troll" label if they say anything that the accuser disagrees with and/or thinks isn't popular opinion for the sub.
This is completely unnecessary.
Nothing drives away new users faster than passive aggressive infighting and a toxic environment full of accusation making and pretentious people. That's not how you welcome the noobs, and that's not how you should treat "trolls" either.
If you can't be better than the trolls, than you're not better than the trolls. If you can't rise to a higher level of consciousness and quality of conversation than the trolls, than you're not fundamentally different from them. And the definition of "troll" isn't someone you disagree with, more accurately, it's someone who is low quality and trashy, and acts like they just live on the internet most of the time. Ironically, that definition fits most of these troll identifiers that lurk in the sub, harassing users and throwing smear words around.
But again I'm not naming any names, if you're guilty then you're guilty, and don't sweat it because we're all guilty of something.
But I've got to say though, the biggest put down of all is seeing high class devs and well respected individuals in the community falling into the same troll-identifier / lynch mob mentality and harassing people. And I will name names here for the devs, because I want them to read this and self reflect.
Want to know how I feel about Amuary (u/deadalnix) after seeing him shit talk BU like they're subhuman? I don't respect Amuary anymore. He might be a good dev, but that doesn't make him a good person. He needs to straighten his personal problems out.
Want to know how I feel about u/jonald_fyookball after him repeatedly and unrelentingly harassing me in threads where other people are harassing me? It makes me wonder where CashFusion is and why after everyone spending $10k (me having donated too) and it having been 6 months, how it is that he has time to downtalk me personally but not time to build the one thing we've all been anticipating.
Want to know how I feel about u/pokkst when he(or is it a she?) harasses me and then downvotes me when I attempt to apologize to him? Just peachy.
This community has a real problem with claiming free speech, then rooting for content moderation, but never content moderation for the low quality abrasive and divisive behavior of individuals who aren't even trying to do anything to add value to this space, but somehow have time to open their computer and mark me and others who are innocents as a troll in some fancy notepad they have downloaded.
Anyways, the only way to break the bad habits of a group is to break your own bad habits, as an individual. I feel like a staggering 2/3 of this community is constructive and productivity/positivity oriented, so I'm only speaking to that remaining 1/3 that I think is really lowering the bar for this place.
It doesn't matter what you think someone else is, whether it's a troll or a secret op or just a jerk. The Golden Rule does not care about your premonitions, biases, or your ideology. If you aren't nice to people, then people aren't going to feel motivated to change or stop being unkind to others.

What stops the government from printing a bunch of money to buy BTC?
This may be basic, but can someone help me understand what stops the government from just printing a ton of money to buy BTC?
That is, if the government can just print free money, why can't they do that to buy a valuable hard asset like BTC? (thereby essentially getting free Bitcoin)

Mark Fabbro presents a view of the new Emergent Coding tech coming soon to Bitcoin Cash. Described by some as possibly the most radical software breakthrough to appear in decades, Mark outlines the specific trade-off necessary to unlock its extraordinary array of benefits.
Amaury Sechet's quote "scaling on-chain is a dumb proposition to begin with..."
Could we have a discussion about this on r/btc? I would be interested in clarification from u/deadalnix. If there has been a thread on this sub already on this subject, I didn't see it.

Why is the subreddit r/btc mostly bitcoin cash while in their intro everything appears to be bitcoin?
I feel their mods try to mix BTC with BCH for unethical reasons. Beginners may get tricked thinking these two are the same thing. [link] [comments] |

A simple way to make sure data tx's don't crowd out cash tx's:
When building blocks, have two pools: tx's with OP_return data and tx's without. Always give first priority to tx's without OP_return data - even if their fees are lower than those with OP_return data.
That way, no cash tx will ever be crowded out by data tx's, even if blocks become full.
There could be a simple filter to keep SLP tokens in the cash-pool (or whatever other exceptions miners want to make).
That way, everybody is still free to use the blockchain however they want, but in times of high-usage, users might have to wait a little longer for a data-tx.

This is an important thread and gets the very heart of why Bitcoin Cash's tokens/contracts, though not as general-purpose as ETH's, are particularly well suited for Non-Custodial Financial Services.
True Non-Custodial Financial Services actually cannot be built on Ethereum due to its balance transaction model, as opposed to Bitcoin's UTXO (multiple input/output model). NCFS providers will choose Bitcoin.
https://twitter.com/vinarmani/status/1174317831564873729
An enterprise is non-custodial when funds move DIRECTLY from buyer to seller (and the NCFS provider is paid directly by one or both parties as well)
https://twitter.com/cgcardona/status/1174533897700311040
If you fund a contract (ETH smart contract, which is different than a BCH script contract) and the contract then routes funds, that isn't non-custodial. Not legally at least.

Join us to learn more about cryptocurrencies in an informal chit chat session and why this is an insurance against hyperinflation (or inflation) this Friday in Singapore! You can pay with Bitcoin Cash for the food and drinks!
Almost nobody has a fucking clue
Almost nobody has a fucking clue about cryto, alot of us live and breath this stuff, day in day out, but if you talk to almost everyone, (with the exception of those actively involved in crypto) they uniformly have two opinions
Either
"Cool those crazy guys! With their 'unhackable' internet money, look at em go!"
Or
"I don't know.. look at those 'stupid 'darknet' 'phyramid scheme' 'hacker' bootlickers don't they know it's a scam?"
Almost everybody has no idea what bitcoin / crypto is about Almost everybody has no idea what they should care about it or even why they should care about it.
We need to all take steps to refine & innovate our communication of crypto as a whole
Our words are what is required to let people know what it is we care about, why we care about it, and why should too
Enviornmentalism surrounding climate change has done exceedingly well at raising the global awareness on sustainability, co2 emissions, plastic pollution and livestock produced Methane.
Yet with our community we have yet to truly activate the same global awareness, we have to communicate and externalise the merits of blockchain technology, dectralzation, independence, distributed consensus, why it matters, why we care and why they should too

ETH investor Steven Nerayoff arrested on Extortion Charges
What a scumbag.
https://www.coindesk.com/doj-brings-extortion-charges-against-early-advisor-to-ethereum-tzero
According to court documents, “Nerayoff claimed Hlady was a former government agent who could carry firearms through airports. On separate occasions, Hlady told Jane Doe … that he had been shot at and had killed people, that he had ‘taken down’ a head of state, and that he had been a part of the Irish Republican Army, the National Security Agency, the Central Intelligence Agency and the FBI.”
That same month, the two executives of Company 1 visited Nerayoff at his New York home. While there, Hlady and Nerayoff entered the guest room of Jane Doe, sleeping by herself. Turning on the light and pulling a chair up to her bed, Hlady and Nerayoff demanded the 10,000 ETH loan or they would “crush” her company.
Nerayoff and Hlady continued to threaten Jane Doe through iMessages and personal threats thereafter, including telling her where her child attended school.
