News World’s Largest Bitcoin ATM Firm To Go Public On The Nasdaq. Bitcoin Depot is set to list on the Nasdaq under ticker symbol ‘BTM’ by Q1 2023 through an $855 million SPAC deal.

Beyond adding to BTC's adoption, isn't this the antithesis of Satoshi's vision? This is being reported as a good thing, but I'm not seeing how involving NASDAQ is good for BTC long term.

Is there a fundamental reason the world can't use one world currency?

The current world we live in has over 100 world currencies with maybe 5 "super power currencies."

This seems to be the current equilibrium reached given the technological constraints.

Constraints that led to multiple currencies: Geographic separation, different monetary policy based on local economy which leads to different levels of interest rates, local laws, others I can't think of.

What I would argue is with bitcoin these historical constraints are not constraints anymore. And if that is the case, can the new equilibrium for the number of currencies in the world be 1?

I am not saying moving to bitcoin as the one world currency any time soon. But in the long-term, say in 100 years, is it more likely there is 100s of currencies or just 1?

Is there a reason the world needs more than 1 currency?

What’s everyone’s thoughts on how bitcoin and crypto transactions are totally traceable? What crypto created to move the world to a digital currency which would then give governments complete control over payments?

submitted by /u/GrandFinale102

Bitcoin Core

Bitcoin Core amends the responses to listsinceblock, listtransactions, and gettransactions to state the associated descriptors in a new field, parent_descs. Additionally, listsinceblock can now be instructed to explicitly list change outputs per the optional parameter include_change. Usually, change outputs are omitted as implicit by-products of outbound payments, but listing them may be interesting in the context of watch-only descriptors.

If governments are arresting people for writing "harmful code", what about devs who code WEAPONS SYSTEMS?

While reading up on Tornado Cash drama, it occurred to me: if they're arresting devs for writing code which makes financial transactions private (whatever their nature), how about all of the devs who have written code for weapons systems? Terror from the air murders women and children with "guided" missles all day every day, they wouldn't work without extensive coding. Or devs who built all of the spy technology that causes people to constantly fear for their lives in places like Pakistan?

Or what about devs who code bugs into systems like aircraft navigation that result in hundreds of deaths? We never hear about who those people are...

BCH scaling issue verification time and propagation time

Not too long ago I had a beautiful conversation with /u/tl121 about Kaspa and BCH and he wrote:

"However, bitcoin cash has already fixed this problem through eliminating the requirement that a broadcast block must be propagated as a complete block, since nearly all the possible transactions will already be in the receiver’s mempool."

See the following article: https://jtoomim.medium.com/block-propagation-data-from-bitcoin-cashs-stress-test-5b1d7d39a234

https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/wpvfz5/possible_breakthrough_in_scaling_pow/ikofp05

However the article is from 2018. Is this still an issue or has it been fixed, especially both verification time and propagation time? It's seems to me very important because Kaspa seems to have also a solution for scaling. Or even Kadena?

Gamestop NFT Daily Fee Income Falls Below $4,000 As Market Meltdown Spreads

GameStop NFT has produced over $166,800 in sales volume in the last 24 hours; yet, with the platform collecting only a 2.25% charge on NFT purchases, the statistic corresponds to only $3,753 in income. Daily income for GameStop's nonfungible token (NFT) marketplace has dropped to less than $4,000, indicating that interest in the platform has decreased dramatically since its introduction in mid-July.

At the time of writing, the HyperViciouZ project on GameStop has the highest 24-hour sales volume of 29.78 Ether (ETH), valued at around $47,841. Pudgy Penguins, OpenSea's top-selling project, received 860.8 ETH, or $1.37 ...

Best crypto virtual card that's compatible with Apple/Google Pay?

I was using CoinZoom until the debit card deposits were restricted for 30 days. They offer a virtual card that works on Google and Apple Pay.

I also have tried BitPay, but couldn't figure out a way to change which currency their virtual card uses (while waiting for the physical card to arrive).

I'm located in the United States, if that matters. Thanks for any suggestions.

ETH in 2022 looks a lot like BTC in 2017

I am surprised more people haven’t mentioned the similarities between BTC then and ETH now:

  1. High fees degrading user experience and creating an opportunity for competitors

  2. A scaling solution which is always on the horizon.

  3. Massive speculation which exacerbates #1, by driving up fees further

  4. Threat if a fork (admittedly unlikely)

The only thing missing is censorship.

Edit: fixed a typo.
