Massive SCAM going on right now on various youtube channels streaming fake live content.
All the links take you to fake websites where you enter in your seed words to get started.
I've reported the ones I saw for fraud/scam.
Is it just me or has this been going on just constantly?
Just to be clear, DO NOT enter your seed words in any computer or online. If it's too good to be true, it is.
-Stay safe out there.

Dr. Tampa Media Corp Add BitCoin As Payment For Porn Sites
Dr. Tampa Media Corp, the owners of GirlsGoneGyno.com and CaptiveClinic.com, has added BitCoin as a method to join our membership websites! I believe crypto currency could play a large part in the adult entertainment industry as companies like Visa and Mastercard constantly seek to censor what type of porn they deem "acceptable" for payment with their credit cards. As a company that produces a lot of CNC style content, I see BitCoin becoming extremely valuable to our distribution model.

My BTC adventure
So this is more a story of an opportunity lost than a story of regret.
But, I do regret this at least a bit.
I heard of Bitcoin around 2009 to 2010. The coins were around 50 dollars when I first read an article on them and they fluctuated up and down from there.
My first experience was mtgox and then coinbase. I made an account and would buy 20 bucks worth of coin at a time. See, I used the coin to buy music from Russian sites for 10 cents a song roughly instead of a dollar here. So I'd spend that 20 on a few albums and then reload it whenever I'd think of new mp3's to buy.
Well after around 5 or 6 albums I decided I was set on music for a while and I just left 20 bucks on coinbase just to see what happened. Well, I forgot about it.
At that time the coin was around $80 for one, then shortly after it was $100 for one. I really wanted to buy one whole coin, but that would have been a third of my paycheck at the time and I just couldn't afford to gamble it.
As I said, I forgot about the coin completely for like 6 months.
Another article popped up about how bitcoin was shooting through the roof and so I checked on it. My 1/8th of a coin netted me $140. The rumor mill was out that it was surely tanking soon so I sold it when one coin was worth around $1400.
I then took that extra $120 and enjoyed a full tank of gas and a night out or two. I figured a reinvestment wouldn't be worth it as it was too much for one coin and forgot about it again.
It tanked for a week to like $800 and I thought good job to me! Patting myself on the back.
Then it hit 4k, 6k, 8k, 14k, 20k.
That 20 bucks would have netted me 5k if I had just let it ride. And if I had just managed to buy one coin I'd have paid cash for my next vehicle.
This lesson reminds me alot of people's skepticism of Microsoft and the people who missed an opportunity. The point being, always let a small amount ride and see. Take the risk!
I made a huge return on my investment. I had 140 dollars I didn't have before.
But hey, it could have been A LOT more.

Blockchain.com - 9 confirmations still not showing in wallet. Goodbye!
So I have a transaction it has 9 confirmations, and exactly matches the address shown to be for bitcoin on the blockchain.com webpage, I also checked on my mobile to make sure there was no injection providing a false address.
It has been 3 hours and no sign of it in my wallet, not even "pending" which they confirm happens instantly regardless of confirmations.
This delay is totally not acceptable.. 3 hours, 9 confirmations, not even recognition that it exists on there website only on blockchain. I have no idea what to tell my client other than "don't worry I'm not stealing your funds, they have just randomly dissapeared for a while..." how reassuring...
I enjoyed there USD amounts when sending funds but after this I am going back to binance.
For the record the transaction is for around $2,000

"When you’re looking to be a government regulated entity, you have to follow all the rules. You can’t allow anonymity anymore." Jason Seibert (securities lawyer) on rejected bitcoin exchanges.
The NYDFS rejected Seattle-based cryptocurrency exchange Bittrex’s BitLicense application, and the resulting rejection letter serves as a blueprint for anyone looking to do crypto business in the Empire State.
For securities lawyer Jason Seibert, who has served on several landmark crypto cases, the crux of Bittrex’s rejection letter is on Page 4 in Paragraph D. He says it offers the 10,000-foot view of what it takes to operate a crypto exchange.
“…Bittrex has failed to demonstrate responsibility, financial and business experience, or the character and fitness to warrant the belief that its business will be conducted honestly, fairly, equitably and carefully,” reads the NYDFS rejection letter of Bittrex, which requested that the exchange provide within two weeks of the rejection written confirmation that it had stopped operating in New York State and doing business with its residents.
What’s clear is that anyone looking to operate as an exchange in New York State must abide by the Five Pillars of KYC and AML:
- internal controls;
- the designation of a Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/AML officer;
- a BSA/AML training program;
- independent testing to test programs;
- and a risk-based, customer due-diligence procedure
“For instance, you have to be able to know if there’s somebody that’s on a sanctions list or an OFAC list,” explains Mr. Seibert, referencing the Office of Foreign Assets Control. “So, it becomes an issue if an exchange doesn’t even know who their customers are due to the ability for users to create a false name or an alias account.”
Seibert points out that no one is going to win points with the regulator when they allow Elvis Presley to trade, as was the case with Bittrex.
“An exchange must see some form of ID, some sort of registration, some sort of link between an actual person and an account,” explains Seibert. “You can run an actual ID against a database like OFAC to make sure that it isn’t a sanctioned Russian who’s not supposed to be doing business in the United States or someone laundering money through a cryptocurrency exchange because they’ve created a false account. That’s the issue with these anonymous accounts. When you’re looking to be a government regulated entity, you have to follow all the rules. You can’t allow anonymity anymore.”

Lower BTC block size
I was listening to a pod cast with Pierre Rochard & Safidean with Stephan Livera and it was very entertaining. Towards the end Pierre was saying how he think the block size should be greatly lowered (1/2 or 1/4 the current size)...... how can anyone possibly say that right now?? Block rewards are high enough now we shouldn’t have to worry about subsidizing miners to keep the system stable game theory wise...... I’m just so confused on people that don’t even understand they are asking to shoot themselves in the foot........what in the actual fuck....someone please help my understand.

VanitySearch, a new tool to create customized BTC SegWit addresses
Maybe you know about VanityGen, where you can create customized vanity BTC addresses containing a defined prefix such like 1miau7hDJ456....
That's very nice but VanityGen is doing that only with legacy addresses where fees are higher compared to SegWit.
As a result, a nice dev has created VanitySearch where it's also possible to create vanity addresses from nested (prefix 3...) and native SegWit (prefix bc1q...). And it's much faster that VanityGen.
You can check it out here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5112311.0

Decentralization removed the trusted third party from the equation, making the system cheaper, faster, more reliable, and more flexible. It also scales exceptionally well, and is as easy to use as the UX we build around it.

A short checklist to determine if you are being scammed.
. Are they offering you free Bitcoin ?
. Are they offering a guaranteed return ?
. Are they asking you to send some Bitcoin ?
. Did they contact you ?
If the answer to any of the above is yes, then yes, you are being scammed.

[AMA] We are a group of BCH miners here to answer your questions, ask us anything!
We are unhappy about the current state of misunderstandings caused by opinionated high profile personalities seeking to win popularity contests. So we've gathered the most pro BCH altruistic miners to come here and share their under represented views. We will begin answering questions at 11pm EST. We will begin answering questions when this post is 1 hours old). We'll try to be answering questions for at least 2 hours but will continue to monitor this thread and can still reply to questions for the next day.

Exodus - BCH/BSV Split
Quick question regarding splitting bch/bsv via Exodus wallet. Will transactions sent after the fork interfere with splitting? I've sent several small transactions out of my Trezor after the fork and have also received a small transaction. If i send my entire balance to Exodus, should i expect the split to be successful?
Also, are there any risks in doing this? I'm always very hesitant to use any wallet that isn't a hard wallet.
Thanks!

I am not interested in Lightning Network (LN) because I cannot keep track of the number of ways one can lose their funds. Bitcoin had it right: if have the private keys, you have the coins. That's as simple as it gets.

About to pitch an Adult Animated Series based off Bitcoin, and Crypto relationship with Artificial Intelligence.
I've been developing a series for two years loosely based off crypto's relationship with Artificial Intelligence. Thought I'd share it here, and you can find a little more about it on my Twitter post. https://twitter.com/Krypticrooks/status/1225145160872480768?s=20 [link] [comments] |
Bitcoin maximalism is not the same thing as BTC maximalism, is not the same thing as Hodl maximalism. The hate against bitcoin maximalism benefits scamcoins, and harms BCH.
plase stop the bitcoin maximalism hate. BCH is also bitcoin.
Use the term btc/hodl maximalism, to make a distinction.

Dear Markets: I'm not selling my stash. I don't care how high the price is. If I can't buy it with BCH, then I'm not selling.
Very simple reasoning. Bitcoin is cash and if I can't buy a real economic good with it (besides expensive green toilet paper), then I'm not selling. I've never bought bitcoin with more than what I can afford to lose, and I budget in my money to buy every dip. I wait for the -15%'s.
You can keep trading like a loony clown at 0.5% of BTC, but no amount of up OR down swings will shake me. I'll stay put at $100, I'll stay put at $1000. You'll just have to trade without my added liquidy. I know, it sucks when hundreds to thousands of emotionally and ideologically invested individuals like me sit on their double/triple digits worth of BCH, and won't do a darn thing with them.
Respectfully, an ideologically firm BCH user

A bit confused... I want to love it, maybe I'm missing something?
This will not be popular here, but my BTC transactions have always confirmed faster. If BCH takes more time to ultimately confirm, then what is the real benefit? (genuinely asking, I feel I may be missing the point).
Bitcoin (Bitcoin cash/BCH) is supposed to be better for the everyday user, day-to-day transactions. But every time I use transact with BCH, it is left unconfirmed for 2+ hours. Sure, whatever service I'm using will send the transaction (whether my hard wallet, an exchange, coinbase digital wallet, etc..) but that is the same with every cryptocurrency.
Little background: I am a fairly experienced cryptocurrency user - I have been interested in the crypto space since its early days, have tried & used several cryptocurrencies for a variety of purposes, as well as buying and trading several others to truly see for myself what the user experience is like, what the benefits are to each, etc... I do NOT have a strong Technical Knowledge of actual blockchain development, coding languages, etc..
Thanks!

Vitalik asks: If UniSwap added a 0.1% fee that would go directly to the Uniswap development team, would this change your willingness to provide free marketing/labor to them?
I'm new to Bitcoin and have a question.
As the title says, I'm new to Bitcoin and I am trying learn a little more each day. My question is, if I buy Bitcoin on Coinbase is there a reason that I would then need to move that Bitcoin over to a Blockchain wallet? What is the difference in Bitcoin sitting in my Coinbase wallet as opposed to my Blockchain wallet?

Craig Wright Accused of Abusing Attorney-Client Privilege in Trial
Craig Wright, the self-professed creator of Bitcoin (BTC), has been accused of abusing attorney-client privilege in order to block documents from being used as evidence in the ongoing trial against him.
Australian computer scientist and businessman Craig Wright is being sued by the family of his deceased business partner Dave Kleiman for US$10 billion in Bitcoin, said to be encrypted in a “Tulip Trust.” In a court document filed on Sunday in Southern District Court of Florida, the legal team representing Ira Kleiman, brother of the deceased, challenged Wright’s “illusory” assertion that over 11,000 company documents ...
