Is there any advantage for those coins if BCH is fast, reliable, has high merchant acceptance and now has implemented increased privacy with cash shuffle?
There are still some lorem ipsum texts on the site so I don't think it's functional. I'm so excited for when this exchange takes off.
What does this mean if my BTC wallet says insufficient funds: topology destroyed!?!!?
"Bitcoin is a Peer-to-peer decentralised payments system. It allows anyone to access and participate in the network. It operates under a set of rules (code) that are agreed upon by the network (consensus). This is enforced by computational power (miners). The miners are incentivised through receiving Bitcoins as rewards for their work. These rewards will gradually diminish until Bitcoin reaches its maximum supply of 21 million coins. "
I was looking for a short, but not grade school level introduction to bitcoin in a short paragraph. I couldn't find anything so I took a shot a writing it myself. I am seeking feedback to make sure it is correct, or if it could be improved.
Thanks
When paying for a proxy service (was afraid to use my credit card no the website and got really happy when I saw the BCH option), after scanning the BitPay QR, my Bitcoin.com wallet tells me that my inputs aren't confirmed so I have to wait.
I read that 0-conf were accepted in BCH, this was my first BCH payment attempt, what I did wrong?
I've updated the script to install Electron Cash from AppImage (and check sigs). Should include both Trezor and Ledger udev rules, but I've only tested Trezor. Here's a list of what is verified:
wallet.trezor.io
Through Tor Browser in Tailstrezorctl
python utility v0.11.3I would HIGHLY recommend that you backup your Tails instance before running this script. I've seen some of the portions of the script corrupt the persistent volume if the right thing goes wrong at the right time. Be warned!!!
Here's a rundown of what the script does:
prefs.js
to allow wallet.trezor.io
to function.iptables
entry to open 127.0.0.1:21325
for Bridge communication.localhost
exclusion for Bridge communication.localhost
exclusion to Tor Browser for Bridge communication.The smallest footprint install for Electron Cash would be the following (in first 30 lines of bootstrap.sh)
```
10_udev 15_bash
45_electron_bch ```
This will skip most of the other stuff and only install the udev rules, shell proxy settings, and electron cash.
Bitcoin recently marked its 10 year anniversary, and while many are currently deep in the trenches of a long and exhausting bear market, there is certainly a lot to celebrate. 2017 was a year that no cryptocurrency enthusiast will ever forget. Many have witnessed Bitcoin’s meteoric rise from under $1,000 to just under $20,000. What followed in 2018 was a substantial correction. However, the price of a single Bitcoin is still well above where it was before in its epic run in 2017. Many have speculated as to the reason for this monumental rally, but there is one event that could very well have been the primary catalyst – Bitcoin halving. What is Bitcoin halving, and why might it be significant for the cryptocurrency again in the coming months? There are many sources of information online that go into great detail about the nature of Bitcoin halving but to make a long story short: Bitcoin was designed to be a deflationary asset, it is finite in number which makes it extremely sought after, and the amount of Bitcoin created is fixed over time. Every 4 years, the mining reward is slashed in half as it reaches the total number of Bitcoins issued. As a result, inflation is prevented and the overall value of Bitcoin should, theoretically, continue to rise. It is a delicate, ingenious balance.
If history repeats as the summer of 2019 approaches, expect to see the accumulation continue for the next several months, with a steady increase in price. Once the projected Bitcoin halving price increase begins, given that speculation is the name of the game in the crypto space, the next halving will likely play an important role again in the next future price of Bitcoin. https://blog.kucoin.com/what-is-bitcoin-halving-procedure-and-predictions-sk-rd
