Using Bitcoin Cash I can move money around like it is supposed to be cheap and reliable. The total cost was less than $0.03 with 25 inputs. That same transaction would cost me over $9.0 using the fake Bitcoin. And the fees in the fake Bitcoin BTC are cheap right now because no one is using it at the moment, wait until you see $20 for a regular transaction let alone a transaction with many inputs like mine. You can "Fuse" all week for a few cents in fees if you want. This post is just a weekly reminder. (And it gives users a specific time to coordinate their fusing if they want. The more people using CashFusion at once, the more effective it is!)
New to CashFusion? No problem, getting set up is pretty easy =)
First, download the Electron Cash desktop wallet. It's got CashFusion built in.
Set up your wallet (and be sure to write down your recovery phrase on a physical piece of paper), then activate CashFusion by clicking the icon in the lower right: https://i.imgur.com/DXEPLtf.png
Once it's activated, your wallet will start "fusing" the Bitcoin Cash it contains. Fusions happen over time as their own transactions, and they only cost you the network transactions fees (so less than a penny, usually).
Each fusion transaction will include some of your coins*, so it will take multiple fusion transactions before all the coins in your wallet will be fused. (In the View menu, toggle the "coins tab" to see all of the coins in your wallet. In the "Label" field, fused coins will show CashFusion info.)
Currently, Electron Cash keeps fusing your coins indefinitely. The plan is to eventually allow you to stop fusing automatically after some number of fusions per coin but, until then, there's no downside to leaving it to fuse continuously besides paying the transaction fees. (Every fusion gives you that much more privacy, while also providing "liquidity" for other fusers.)
It may be necessary to split up or join your coins before they will Fuse, depending on their sizes. If you leave CashFusion running and don't see any fusions happening, consider sending your coins to yourself in small amounts to split them up, or sending everything to yourself in one transaction to combine them. (That latter does connect those addresses and reduce your privacy looking "backwards", so whether it's worth trying is up to you.)
Electron Cash does not yet prevent you from spending un-fused coins, nor does it prefer fused coins when spending, so it's probably best to leave it fusing and keep your whole wallet fused, and to pick your coins manually from the Coins tab. If you want that coin-management taken care of for your (and/or you're not comfortable picking from the Coins tab), you can always switch back to CashShuffle for now. (It's in the Optional Features window, accessible from the Tools menu.)

*"Coins" are kind of a confusing concept when it comes to Bitcoin, but you can think of them just like discrete "bills" (or... "coins") in your wallet, but instead of coming in only certain sizes like $1, $5, $10, $20, etc, they can be any amount sent to you in a previous transaction, like 0.618 BCH, 0.000001 BCH, or 123.45679 BCH. (They can also be combined and split up. That happens in most transactions!)

I risked it all on BTC
I’ve been DCA into Bitcoin pretty regularly for a few years, nothing crazy just a few hundred here and there. But that all changed last year when I finally dug deep and realized it’s true power. Against everyone’s advice and some common sense I pulled out my entire 401k and put it into this gift from the Gods. I’ve been trying to spread the word of bitcoin to friends and coworkers but they all looked at me as the guy with the tin foil hat. Once I told and showed them what I had done, I was no longer the guy in the tin foil hat. I was beyond that. But something interesting happened. Over time more and more of them became curious on how I would be so stupid yet so daring and risky. So they finally opened up and actually listened to what bitcoin is all about.
Im kinda high so I don’t even remember where I was going with this post. But I never looked back after putting it all into bitcoin!!

How would BTC work as legal tender in countries for buying day to day goods?
Sorry if this is a really dumb question and there’s already a well known answer that i’m somehow not realising but with the news of Argentina’s president considering following El Salvador in their BTC adoption I was left wondering how this will work.
I don’t even mean like large scale how will the system work but more so price for things in stores etc, would a chocolate bar be priced at 0.00002145BTC, would everything just be priced with many decimal places or would the price be shown in dollars but just paid for in BTC?
Again apologies if a silly question but just curious if anyone has any ideas.

Is SatoshiDice.com Still Fair?

On 20th July, Satoshidice made a big change on their website by decreasing the winning number drastically. Following are the changes: As a daily player, I notice that one of the player was winning almost 50+ BCH per day from betting on x25, x3 and 1.5. During the time Satoshi Dice had around 450 BCH in their wallet, and as the player was aiming for max win return (10 BCH). Therefore, in 4-to-5-day course the player cleared out the Satoshi Dice wallet to around 5 BCH and transferred to his address. NOTE: This is the player address: “qz37fjswavhu2q88eu5y378kfnl752xul5vf23wnua” https://blockchair.com/bitcoin-cash/address/qz37fjswavhu2q88eu5y378kfnl752xul5vf23wnua I do play and observe the site on daily basis and notice a significant change on site as none of the players seems to get back their own initials on their bets. – See attached image (captured on: 12/08/2021) The reason my claim for this is because after the changes in the site, the same player lost around 80% of their winning in just few days which helped Satoshi dice recovered more than the amount they lost in less than a week. Currently they have 520+ BCH in their main wallet. Early-stage U.S. House bill would ban CoinJoined coins from CEXs (Unlikely to become law)

On July 28, 2021 U.S. House Representative Donald Beyer Jr. (Virginia 8th district, Democrat) introduced H.R. 4741: Digital Asset Market Structure and Investor Protection Act. It appears that this bill is unlikely to become law. More on that later. First, the parts of the bill that may impact BCH's CashFusion CoinJoin privacy-enhancing protocol:
(b) Purpose
The purpose of the rule described in subsection (a) shall be to ensure that anonymizing services, money mule, and anonymity-enhanced convertible virtual currencies are not used to prevent association of an individual customer with the movement of a digital asset, digital asset security, or virtual currency of which the customer is the direct or beneficial owner.
(c) Requirements
The rule described in subsection (a) shall—
(1) require any financial institution to prohibit any person from engaging in any transactions that involves digital assets or digital asset securities and—
(A) anonymizing services;
(B) money mules; or
(C) anonymity-enhanced convertible virtual currencies;

In this section, the term ‘virtualcurrency’, ‘anonymizing service’, ‘money mule’, and ‘anonymity-enhanced convertible virtual currency’ have the meanings given such terms by the Secretary of the Treasury, acting through the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.
We are still working on determining where the Secretary of Treasury defines these terms, if they have even been defined yet.
CashFusion may be affected by this since it could be considered an anonymizing service. Therefore, centralized exchanges like Coinbase, Kraken, Binance, Gemini, etc. might refused coins that have gone through a CashFusion transaction.
The good news is that this bill will likely not become law. Members of Congress introduce bills that will never be enacted all the time. It is sort of a way to show to their voters and lobbyists that they are working on issues. They may also try to insert pieces of their bills into larger bills as amendments.
This bill has no co-sponsors, so no other member of Congress has gone on the record as supporting it. It has only been submitted to the Committee on Financial Services, the Committee on Agriculture, and the Committee on Ways and Means. This is the beginning of a long process of edits, hearings, and votes before it even gets to the floor for a final vote -- and then it would need to pass the Senate hurdle. In addition, it is very difficult to get any legislation through Congress right now since the Republicans and Democrats are so at odds with each other, and the Democrats have a weak governing coalition.
Finally, the GovTrack "prognosis" says "4% chance of being enacted according to Skopos Labs." I have never seen a prognosis percentage like this before, so it may be new -- and I don't know what it's based on. But I guess the algorithm, whatever it is, agrees that it is unlikely to pass. Pieces of the bill could still show up as attempted amendments to other bills, however.
So, don't worry too much (yet). I'm posting this now to get ahead of any rumors that may start about this bill. I used to work in policy so I'm in a pretty good position to interpret the chances of this bill and the process for it possibly becoming law.
EDIT: The GovTrack info and the bill text itself was inconsistent about whether it had been referred to a committee. I edited the post to say that it had been referred to committees, since the bill text said it had been.
EDIT2: If I had to write the post title again, I probably would have said "would likely ban..." since interpretation of law can be complicated.

As a professional bartender, I let my guests pay with bitcoin~
I posted this in a comment a while back ago, but I think it's kind of... cool? And also important to hear for anyone working in the fiat world (especially food service workers), as they could maybe replicate the action or something similar.
So I'm a bartender. Like, professionally. As in it's my main source of income to live, I do it 5 nights a week in a professional, semi-fancy restaurant. Note: This is a typical, fiat-only restaurant.
I was chatting about crypto with a guest sitting at the bar who just happened to also be a bitcoiner, like me. So I did this thing... I offered to let him pay his bill in bitcoin.
And he did.
I got him to send me and equivalent amount to my wallet address (plus whatever tip he wanted, and he did tip well). And then I paid his tab for him myself.
Perhaps there are even more ways to work BTC into today's world. Just letting you guys know that I'm out there, doing my part~ 💙

Working on an NFT project, and I would like for users to be able to directly upload music or video content:
Do you guys know of any good tools for direct file sharing ? The goal is for users to be able to upload content for us to receive directly, without their being any middleman.
Knowing how the crypto community feels about certain cloud platforms like Dropbox or Google, We were hoping that someone in the space would have an alternative.

Spend bitcoin at stores that accept it, please!
I see a lot of folks that think they should never spend any Bitcoin - they’re going to save it forever. Cool, HODL your stack. But, please realize there is a difference between "taking profits" and "growing the network."
When buying stuff with Bitcoin, you can either "spend and replace" or you can use something like Strike. The latter being better. It seems like so many people in comments here have never heard of Strike or lightning, or they don't know what they do. Granted, some countries don't have access to Strike yet but I see plenty of negative comments coming from folks that could be using it.
For those that don't know about it, let me explain. You can connect your bank account and then deposit your dirty fiat into Strike. Whenever you want to send someone BTC (main chain or lightning) you just click “pay” and scan the QR code. Strike deducts your fiat and then Strike pays with BTC. Let me repeat: Strike pays with BTC. You never hold that BTC and so therefore you never have any capital gain issues. In other words, Strike lets you use the BTC network without holding BTC.
So, if Strike is available in your country, please do yourself a favor and figure out how it works before you crap on people's joy when a new store starts accepting bitcoin. If people will spend bitcoin then there's no reason for stores not to accept bitcoin - and there's no reason you can't keep HODLing your stack if you use something like Strike.
Finally, I see some folks that seem to think it's pointless for a store to accept bitcoin. I mean....is it not obvious why a store should? Sure, maybe a store instantly converts BTC to fiat, but (1) having them accept it is advertising for Bitcoin, (2) don't you think stores will start to realize that lightning is cheaper than merchant fees, and (3) who's more likely to HODL bitcoin - a business that accepts it or one that doesn't? Opportunities and risks: Bank of America: El Salvador does a lot of things right with Bitcoin as a means of payment
That Bank of America (BoA), of all people, spoke up and supported the actions of El Salvador initially caused astonishment, since the American big bank had been extremely critical of the cryptocurrency in March of this year. Bank of America sees no reason to own Bitcoin, apart from wanting to speculate with it, the banking giant is quoted on BTC-Echo. This opinion seems to have changed since the bank recently published a document via Twitter in which opportunities and positive perspectives are presented that could arise for El Salvador through the introduction of Bitcoin as a means of payment.

SmartBCH - Rushing out a centralized implementation

The developers are now busy in studying feasibility and safety of SHA-Gate, with coding and implementation followed soon. We invite the BCH community to help us review and refine SHA-Gate. Before SHA-Gate is ready for deployment, smartBCH will use a semi-centralized bridge operated by CoinFLEX.
I'm not sure how to feel about this. I want to see SmartBCH launched, but having the bridge run through a centralized exchange is antithetical to what I believe in and what this community has stood for. The SmartBCH team has sacrificed security and decentralization to get a product out.
There is no timeline for how long SmartBCH will need to use the CoinFLEX bridge. And according to the teams blog post, the feasibility of SHA-Gate still needs to be tested. Is this a road we want to go down?
