Thinking of writing a regular column on read.cash called "The Bitcoin Cash Chronicles". Would love if someone could make a logo I can use as the lead image/full-width background. If I use it I'll pay .25 BCH. If I really like it, .3 BCH. DMs are open.

Real world usage

I'm not sure if this is allowed but I wanted to link to these guys at Carlingford music in Australia. I bought a guitar from them yesterday with bitcoin and the transaction was smooth and the guys were super helpful.

I figure it's much better to spend bitcoin than to cash out and pay the taxman and besides if these guys can run a business successfully by allowing btc as a purchase option perhaps more retailers will take note and do the same. Currently there are only 2 musical instrument retailers in Oz that do.

So I was setting up SLPDB and was reminded that the Bitcoin Cash network confirmed over 330K transactions in 2 blocks on November 10 2018 (prior to BSV split)

Now I'm reminding all of you :)

If memory serves me right, however, I believe these were the blocks that made the node software infamously "shit itself", because I think the 10th was the scheduled stress test.

But, I know the software (and the ecosystem as a whole) has only been improving since then, specifically to address this and other scaling issues (and to garner adoption). I look forward to a sustained block size in the tens of MBs in the next few quarters. :)

inb4 "but nobody uses bcash, bcash blocks are empty, bcash is trash etc. etc."

Vin Armani keeps trying to push this idea that you can't "own" or "steal" bitcoins, and that they're not "money". After cordially and constructively trying to explain to him why i think that's incorrect logically (and also not pragmatic), he blocks me. What gives? Seems like an unpopular opinion.

Is Spice Casa not working for anyone else?

I “won” 2 bets but never got my spice sent back to me. They’re supposed to be sent back within 10 seconds or if not that whenever the “next block comes around”. It’s been over an hour now and still nothing. I tried one bet sending it from my wallet on Cryptophyl and the other from my badger wallet. I didn’t lose a huge amount (just $10) but it’s still frustrating. There seems to be no customer support. Their Twitter has been inactive for weeks and their telegram is a ghost town. I’ve only heard positive things about spice casa on this subreddit so I figured they were trustworthy... but now I’m starting to have my doubts.

Now sorry let me clarify that a couple of bets DID in fact work but out of the 5 I’ve done only 3 have been successful... and coincidentally it’s been the bigger bets (like 3000 spice and 1000 spice) where they seem to be failing. Where smaller bets where I only bet 40 spice worked no problem.

For those who don’t know, Spice Casa is a gambling site where you can bet your spice https://spice.casa
