Bitcoin is the only team I root for

Never really was one for watching sports, but I've come to realize that investment reasons aside believing in bitcoin is synonymous with "cheering my favorite team on". At the end of the day if bitcoin is going through big dips or rallying I'm team BTC all the way.

Thinking about buying Bitocin

Hello!

Would it be advisable to buy Bitcoin now if I think it coulde be worth more in the future?

Also what are some good and safe platforms for that, like Saxo Bank or Revolut?

Thanks in regards!

Idea for a BTC earning platform (fiverr, upwork, mturk).. Thoughts/suggestions?

I’m a web developer, and I’ve been prototyping a site where users can earn bitcoin through gigs (like upwork) small services (like fiverr) and microtasking (like mturk). Since acquiring paying customers could be hard at the start, I’m also planning a section for web-based games where users could earn small amounts of BTC paid for by ad revenue.

I’m still not sure about the best way to handle payouts - My thought is users could withdraw their balance at any time to another app that has more robust trading/wallet/currency exchange features like coinbase. But I’m not sure which apps (if any) have APIs to support automatic transfers.

I need to do more research but before I get too far I wanted to run it by the community for thoughts. Good concept? Bad concept? Already been done? I didn’t find any sites like this at a cursory glance.

What are some examples of highly successful volunteer-only open-source projects, besides GNU and Linux?

It is the exception rather than the norm for open-source projects to rent-seek. I think that having a highly-visible list of successful open-source projects that don't claim a cut of their users' revenue will be helpful in this ridiculous IFP debate.

When the mempool empties, why don't miners mine the 0.999 sat/vB TXNs?

I realize that MOST nodes don't relay TXNs below 1 sat/vB, but obviously some do. So, if a miner has access to any TXN from 0.5 sat/vB to 0.9 sat/vB, why wouldn't they mine them when it is all that is left?

Looking at https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#0,1w on Sept 8/9 the < 1 sat/vB band looks unchanged, even when the > 1 sat/vB band completely empties. I know miners are very focused on profits, so why leave this money on the table?

Or perhaps that whole band is almost 99.999% TXNs set to 0.000 sat/vB. In that case the few TXNs set to 0.9 sat/vB wouldn't even register on the display.

Thoughts?
