What is the advantage of 10 minute block times versus lowering the block times?

Hi, I was just wondering if there was any specific reason that Bitcoin Cash has kept a 10 minute block time instead of reducing it for faster confirmations? Thanks guys

There are over 7 billion people in the world, most can't afford high fees. One thing is certain in this world and is that most people in the world won't use Bitcoin Core but something else.

This will change as crypto price/popularity increases, but I hate paying, let’s say, $30 in Bitcoin for a pizza, because then I think “dang, I just potentially paid $1000 for that pizza.”

Edit: yes I understand I can replenish with the amount I would have spent on pizza, but it’s just how it feels psychologically. To it’s core, it’s the feeling of buying pizza when you could buy crypto haha
