Would zkSNARK allow me to prove I own coins without revealing my public key?
Sometimes you want to prove you own some coins. Maybe you’re running a fund, or an exchange, or collateralising a liability, or you’re just want someone to know you’re serious about a big transaction.
The standard way to do it is to just point to your public key and sign some message your auditor came up with.
However, this connects your real world identity to your public key and requires you to trust a tumbler service not to snitch about your coin history. Ideally there would be a way to disclose a balance without revealing your public key.
This is exactly the problem zkSNARKs solve. Does such a tool exist?
