Not earlier than yesterday it became possible to exchange cash to btc in 6 tobacco shops around Paris. This is the result of collaboration of retail and French fintech group Keplerk. One of Keplerk's co-founders is optimistic about the further cooperation and adoption potential as he hopes to increase the number of btc-friendly tobacco shops in France up to 6500 by February, despite French regulators' November warning against buying cryptocurrencies due to their unregulated state and high volatility.
One of the mentioned reasons of such a partnership is that for some people it's more convenient and trustable to buy crypto through local shop either than online.
So far BTC is about $3.7k according to coin360 and cmc. Let's hope this adoption process will sucessfully go on and will lead to further rise of crypto-awareness among the general population.
