Short summary: Dutch authorities took BestMixer.io offline, in cooperation with the Luxembourgian, Latvian and French authorities. They claim research has shown that most users of mixing services do so to hide cryptocurrency of criminal origins.
Knowing the local governments in my part of Europe, I've always suspected coin mixing services (and their users) would be treated this way, and thus have advised others against using them (though I don't agree with the authorities' reasoning). I guess this serves as a warning to others. Sucks to be right, in this case. Makes you wonder how they'll treat cryptocurrencies with more built-in anonymization/security down the line...
