Even if it is practical to compare fees in US dollars, technically we should be thinking in terms of the amount of satoshi per byte it costs to confirm a transaction on the blockchain fast and reliably.

- 1 sat/B transactions in Bitcoin Cash. (May 2019).,time(2019-05)#)
The minimum fee you can pay in both chains is one satoshi per byte (1 sat/B), but it is much more likely to have that transaction confirmed in the blockchain using Bitcoin Cash than using Bitcoin. The Bitcoin Cash blockchain contains 61 times the amount of 1-satoshi-per-byte transactions in the Bitcoin blockchain during this month.
It is clear why some people choose to use Bitcoin Cash instead of Bitcoin.
