Why can't other people see the inevitability of bitcoin?

"People want an authority to tell them how to value things, but they choose this authority not based on facts or results, they choose it because it seems authoritative and familiar." - Michael Burry; The Big Short.

Why don't any of the people around us understand bitcoin? Why do they ignore it? Why do they refuse to look below the surface?

The truth is, as the quote above eloquently explains, they want an authority to tell them how to value things. If the media talking heads and the investment advisors they see on TV tell them its a waste of time then its a waste of time, period, and nothing can change their mind or even make them look a little bit deeper.

The day these authoritative figures tell them bitcoin is money is the day they will believe it, not a second earlier.

The day TVs most popular news anchors and financial advice celebrities start saying bitcoin is money, that is the day we go mainstream.
