in a parallel world where we go back to the Gold Standard, won't that set us back a few decades?

Our big edge here is that Fiat is designed to fail, and people are losing faith on it, and are trying to find alternatives.

But let's say we go back to the gold standard... (just pretend, bear with me) -- It will take the gooberment atleast 50 yrs to commit fraud and over print it. (ie; printing 1.5 trillion goldbucks, but only have 1 trillion worth of gold in storage)

So that means, the masses will have faith on the new gold bucks for another few decades. And won't bother finding other alternatives,.. such as crypto?
