I am surprised more people haven’t mentioned the similarities between BTC then and ETH now:

High fees degrading user experience and creating an opportunity for competitors

A scaling solution which is always on the horizon.

Massive speculation which exacerbates #1, by driving up fees further

Threat if a fork (admittedly unlikely)
