Fake Money

I work at a bank, and although I am relatively new to BTC investing, I had mentioned to a coworker in their 40s that it is something that is a great investment for the future. They looked at me and told me that BTC is “fake money” because that’s what The Big Bang Theory tv show said....

The classic “I don’t understand it so therefore it must not be good” strategy that more and more of the older generation seem to have is so strange to me, especially with something like BTC.

1 ETH private key published during Blockd tool proof of concept, hacker unable to claim coins

Must hand it to the guy, he put his money where his mouth is. By the looks of it, the service watches the mempool for transactions involving the exposed address, and broadcasts a pre-signed transaction with a higher fee that knocks the first transaction out of the mempool. It appears that you pre-sign the same transaction several times, each time with progressively higher fees.

Great idea!

Can we please remove the awkward last sentence of the r/Bitcoin Description?

A large percentage of Bitcoin enthusiasts are libertarians, though people of all political philosophies are welcome.

Bitcoin is apolitical. Who cares who it's users are? It is technology. People carry stigmas and it is never good to start putting labels on something or grouping things that might be associated negatively with someone right off the bat. This is a forum after all and where do noobs always go to first learn about something? Usually internet forums, specifically on reddit. I am certainly not politically libertarian myself. It Just seems like a rather odd statement to make is all. Am I overthinking it?

Beware of Changelly exchange

I wish I had found these other posts prior to using Changelly today. My very large exchange (worth thousands of USD) is being held because I'm in the USA. I have used Changelly in the past without issue from the USA, and have provided KYC documents. So far they have told me they can't help and to contact their security team about this, via amail. I did this hours ago and have received no response. (Changelly won't provide anything other than an email address, which alone is worrisome). I will update this post if I get my coins back. This is a huge potential loss.
