I have been running a LN node for about a month now. During this period, a situation occured where the machine the node was running on froze and it took me ~3 days before I noticed and got it back online and in sync.
In the meantime, my counterparties could have closed my channels with an unfair balance and there was nothing I could have done about it. I realise I got off easy, but this got me thinking.
Would it be possible to run an exact copy of my current node on another device as a fail-safe? Or otherwise, run an instance of LN which monitors only the state of my channels, without routing any payments?
