BITBOX — We've got some trouble | 503 - Webservice currently unavailable

We've got some trouble with our backend upstream cluster. Our service team has been dispatched to bring it back online.

I'll start by saying that https://developer.bitcoin.com/ is an amazing resource (arguably the best out there) for ANY developer getting started with Bitcoin Cash.

When I re-entered the community in January, I got up and running VERY quickly by just taking my time and going through all the well put together docs. Many, MANY thanks to those that worked so hard to make that happen.

Now it's months later, I'm literally looking to go into PRODUCTION with a few services, namely NitoJS and Causes Cash, but I find myself replacing ALL BITBOX code to minimize its impact when the service becomes unavailable (far too often).

This latest outage has lasted approximately 8 hours (based on my running logs).

This reminds me of my early days in Bitcoin Legacy when blockchain.info would go down almost every weekend, and all BTC services would halt until mon morning, because basically EVERYONE was using their API.

In my particular case, this is NOT terrible, as I've already spoken with u/trout-bch about using BCH JS on https://fullstack.cash; and I've recently connected with u/blockparty_sh to get started with BitDB on https://fountainhead.cash.

My issue, and the reason for this post, is because I think it's a bit disingenuous for Bitcon.com to centralize (by being the loudest voice) so much of BCH's development WITHOUT offering a PAID tier. I literally asked this question (via email) in my first WEEK, but never got a direct response from their team.

I cannot be the only developer that this is affecting; and this would be a major turnoff for someone new to the community to have to re-write so much code after realizing this library CANNOT be used in production. Btw, is there currently a "public" drop-in replacement for BITBOX?? I know that `restURL` parameter exists for a reason.

If the BCH community is serious about growth and ADOPTION, then I don't see anything better than attracting the BEST developers in the space to BUIDL the BEST services in crypto .. That's how you create VALUE!! .. I'm NOT talking about infrastructure, I'm talking about SERVICES (eg. read.cash, memo.cash, local.bitcoin.com, etc) .. imo, you ARE NOT going to achieve that without a robust, production-ready infrastructure (whether paid or free)..

500 txs/block won't do anybody ANY good, if users are unable to access the network.
