Discrepancies Between CoinmarketCap and CoinGecko Market Data, Covering Up Wash Trading?

Just today I was examining the BTC market trading data on CoinmarketCap: https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/markets/

and I noticed that all of the sketchy exchanges nobody has heard of that do wash trading were gone from the list. I hopped on over to CoinGecko, https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bitcoin#markets and I found them again:

  • Whitebit
  • Bitmart
  • P2B
  • BigONE
  • Deepcoin
  • BingX
  • Lbank
  • ... 10+ more down the list

I suppose Coinmarketcap is trying to clean up BTC's image? It's probably not a good look to have $4 billion in wash trading volume every day...

If anyone uses these exchanges, I'd love to hear what they have to say about them.
