Raunak Onkar Of PPFAS Mutual Fund Says Fund House Maintains The Same Portfolio Since March Raunak Onkar, Head-Research of PPFAS Mutual Fund, said that the fund house’s portfolio remains the same since March, during an interview with The Economic Times. Onkar told in the recent interview that the company still has 23 percent cash. He also added that the fund house maintains their portfolio cash between 22 percent and 23 percent, and that they do not have 30 percent always. The Head-Research further added that the fund house has invested in reasonable opportunities and valuations. He said that they have not diverting from “what they were already investing in,” and not making any new investments. PPFAS Mutual Fund is ready to deploy the cash immediately in mid and smallcap stocks when they are comfortably valued, said Onkar. When asked about whether the fund house is happy in maintaining their portfolio as there is “risk of an election in the next 12 months,” Onkar replied that “it is fine” since risk or opportunity would keep emerging in every five years. He added that the fund house does not look at “election as an investment argument.” He further added that they turn towards “businesses as they are doing very well.” The portfolio of the PPFAS MF might be the same, however the fund house might be investing in something else or the pre-existing investments which become expensive would be withdrawn, said Onkar. He said that cash flow has always been the thing in the mutual fund market. Businesses which considers front loading all their costs but simultaneously generating enough cash flows for reinvesting will inevitably do better as there is cash flow behind it. “Worry macro but invest micro,” said the PPFAS Mutual Fund Head-Research. He added that when “bottom-up investing” makes to “worry top-down” and affect things. He further feels that there is no issue in investing in ideas where investments have already been made, if the company’s portfolio is not going to be affected immediately, according to the report from The Economic Times.
