I remember reading the other sub back in 2013 and the air was on fire with possibility. The mission was to make money free and help everyone in the world make cheap, uncensorable transactions.
Now when I log in to r/btc I feel the same enthusiasm. Getting merchants to sign up, encouraging corporations to adopt, feeding the hungry. This is more than about holders making money: there is a moral mission behind it. I assume most people want to make money with their holdings, but its far more than just that.
Also people from this sub are those that I want to share a beer, hang out, and debate bitcoin and all sorts of topics. It’s an intellectually curious and friendly crowd. These are the people I would spend my time with in real life.
So even though we’re at the near bottoms in price in this bear market, I’m very excited about this bitcoin community and seeing where we can all take it together. Thanks to everyone’s contribution and hard work, I for one appreciate it.
