Many of you know already know that Satoshi included a message in the genesis block coinbase: "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks". This remains as a historical record from the founder of Bitcoin, and it's also a clear message to Bitcoin users that BTC was developed in reaction to the financial crisis of 2008.
More importantly, Satoshi showed miners that they can make their beliefs known to the entire community of users simply by inserting a message in the Coinbase. I want to encourage miners to exercise this privilege, and please tell us of your hopes, dreams, and complaints. This week I'd be adding "GTFO Craig".
