Bitcoin.com App generating bad addresses (e.g. contains restricted characters)

update: I used a work-around from user homopit and it solved my problem (by converting to a "legacy" address).

I am using BU 1.5.0.0-5fd8162 and Bitcoin.com App v5.2-rc1

I am trying to send BCH payment from the BU to the App, but the receive addresses the App generates are not recognized as valid by BU client (e.g. it'll contain a '0' [zed] or restricted letter). What am I doing wrong? I have updated the phone app and BU client to the latest versions which my phone / computer will respectively handle.

Do I just need to purchase a new phone / OS so I can use latest versions? Seems weird to me that this would be deprecated...
