El Salvador is now the third-largest country for crypto ATM installations, after the US and Canada. The vast majority of them are the government's Chivo ATMs, over 200 of which were installed this month to give residents easier access to Bitcoin transactions and USD conversions now that Bitcoin is legal tender in El Salvador.
Fifty more Chivo ATMs were installed in 11 US cities so that friends and family can send commission-free payments to one another.
