Don't be surprised if BCH gets Schnorr Signatures before BTC Core does

Recently there has been a lot of talk about a new proposal on the BTC (Bitcoin Core) side to introduce Schnorr Signatures - https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/8wn9nh/pieter_wuille_submits_schnorr_signatures_bip/

While we don't /need/ Schnorr in BCH (we can scale without it), there are a number of advantages to Schnorr including increased privacy.

/u/deadalnix has written up a good summary about Schnorr here: https://www.deadalnix.me/2017/02/14/schnorr-signatures-for-dummies/

/u/deadalnix also started writing on an implementation for BCH well over a year ago!!! https://github.com/deadalnix/schnorr/blob/master/schnorr.d

I think the reality is that we will see Schnorr in BCH much sooner than in BTC Core. Core moves incredibly slowly, and will probably take 1 to 2 years to do this upgrade. We can easily add this to BCH, and even do it better, as we are able to hard fork, while core can only do soft forks.

Something to think about!
