There are innumerable devices and technological initiatives that have been specifically designed to ensure that Bitcoin transactions are more economical, safer, and quicker. The most recent initiative is called Spark, an off-chain wallet, which can facilitate transmission of the Bitcoin cryptocurrency using c-lighting.
Incidentally, the Lighting Network has been experiencing massive growth, facilitating quicker transactions among the nodes. There is no doubt that the said phenomenon is gathering extra momentum with the emergence of a new sophisticated technology like Spark.
The wallet is a web-based GUI (Graphical User Interface) app and enjoys compatibility with a number of operating system platforms. For instance, Spark is compatible with MacOs, Windows, and Electron app for the Linux operating system. The wallet app will have compatibility with iOs and can be also used in mobile phones working on the Android OS.
With an off chain wallet like Spark, the Bitcoin cryptocurrency can be received and spent easily through a simple interface over the Lightning Network. Users will now be able to run their c-lightning nodes, validating Bitcoin nodes, as well as, their Spark GUI for using the Lightning Network in a completely trustless manner.
A key feature of the Spark is that its users can conduct off-chain transactions over the Lightning Network. The technical documentation for Spark mentions that it is a complete off-chain wallet device.
Resolving Scalability Problem of Bitcoin
The Lightning Network of Bitcoin has the potential to facilitate billions of cryptocurrency transactions every second across its network. There has been an exponential and impressive expansion of the Bitcoin Lightning Network.
This decentralized system enables its users to implement trustless channels of micropayment to perform single or numerous simultaneous payment transactions even off-Blockchain.
The off-chain wallet for the Bitcoin cryptocurrency is expected to make the transactions much faster. The transactions take place between the different channels placed off the Blockchain. Once the transactions are completed, they are broadcasted as only one transaction to the DLT or Blockchain, Bitcoinist reported. After the closure of the transaction channel, these competed transactions are then are recorded onto the Blockchain for the Bitcoin.
