I'm a huge fan of BCH (inspired by good folks like Ryan X Charles, Gabriel Cardona, Roger Ver and so many others). I am committed to its success and truly believe Bitcoin Cash can and will be p2p electronic cash for the entire world.
I believe Bitcoin Cash adoption will grow in many forms, including:
- Fiat <> Crypto "Debit" Cards
- BCH Mobile Apps/Wallets & POS Systems
- Money Button
But this all depends on a healthy ecosystem.
That said, I'm very concerned about the dysfunction surrounding a potential chain split in November. I don't full understand it, so I've been learning and researching as much as I can.
Part of this research includes understanding the various parties, including nChain/CSW/CoinGeek/BitcoinSV, as well as Bitmain/Jihan/Roger and ABC / BU / XT / CC (whatever we're going to call Cobra Client).
All the acronyms.
It's a lot to absorb, but I'm trying to be as objective as possible, so I'm starting with what I know:
I know Roger Ver has been one of Bitcoins biggest champions over the last 8-9 years. He's done a fantastic job educating folks like me; the recent vlogs on the Bitcoin.com YouTube channel are amazing. Further, bringing Gabriel on board to build and support a strong developer community is the best thing that's happened to foster bitcoin adoption in a long time.
I know Jihan was the first person to translate the bitcoin white paper to Chinese, and has a successful mining operation which has not only supported BCH but has continued to keep the BTC network secure, despite blockstream hostilities towards Bitmain.
I know Ryan X Charles has been working around the clock to modernize payments and build a true p2p economic platform for everyone, amongst all the noise and hurdles the last couple of years.
Finally, I know Bitcoin Cash would not be here if not for Amaury/ABC.
I know very little about Craig S Wright, so I started my research there.
The earliest content I could find is CWS speaking as a Government Cyber Security Expert in 2014. Video is here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAyWT3nljBI
The following credentials are highlighted:
- Lecturer and Researcher, Charles Sturt University
- Focuses on government collaboration in cyber security
- Trains governments in cyber defense
- 20+ years of IT-related experience
I'm curious as to what happened between 2014-2018, and how CSW went from university researcher & helping governments with cyber security to to Chief Scientist at nChain, and how they are funded.
Disclaimer: I am neutral on this topic. Just looking for more information.
