When BTC is "lost" on the LN network where does it go, lost forever? (Question removed from r/bitcoin)

I keep hearing all this BTC being lost, is it gone for good? That would be amazingly great for the price of BTC, I just saw 4 BTC got lost, this deflation could really help the price over time
