I’m thinking of buying a Linux server (~$1k) with about 64 gig ram, in its spare time would it be a decent miner?

Hi,

I’m a astrophysicist undergrad,

I was going to get a Linux server for personal use/ run some physics simulations (as apposed to my laptop and after summer when I don’t get access to government super computer

Plan is to use this as my computer and SSH into it from my laptop, use it for storage and work. This normally wouldn’t scratch its computer power.

I’m aware BTC made minera are tremendously more efficient, but roughly how decent of a miner would it make?

Also, my rent covers electric for “reasonable” use,

Also, would it hurt it to constantly run?
