Taiwan will host the world's first large music festival using IBM Blockchain technology

Taipei will host the first major music festival to run on IBM blockchain technology. 40,000 celebrators will be present at the event that would be held in the month of September at Ultra Taiwan 2018 where users will pay for goods and services in Ultra Coin on Pundi X exchange.

Ultra Taiwan 2018 will have a song festival and the prominent electronic dance music DJs and cutting-edge visual, cryogenic and pyrotechnic effects and it will also become a crunch for the real-world use of the blockchain technology.

A high-class partnership between world-leading blockchain-based payments provider Pundi X and the festival will see more than 20,000 XPASS cards to be bought by festival-goers for use on IBM Blockchain technology payment stations at more than 30 different festival shops. Ultra Taiwan 2018 will have Pundi X as the on-site payments partner. Pundi X will allow consumers to pay for real goods in digital currencies.

Many Pundi XPASS cards will be distributed to festival-goers, who will be able to use them to pay for food, goods, and merchandise at more than 40 different payment points with XPOS installed. Pundi X POS, the blockchain-based terminal that allows retailers to use to process speedy cashless transactions, will be connected on festival grounds to take the payments in Ultra Coin.

Ultra Taiwan 2018 will complete its 5th anniversary with a lengthy, 2-day festival that will be placed in Taipei’s Dajia Riverside Park featuring Alan Walker, DJ Snake, and Pan-Pot.

Pundi X has started shipping its devices to the worldwide retail market, including partners in Singapore, Switzerland and Korea. The company is targeting a rollout of more than 100,000 of its exclusive IBM Blockchain technology POS devices to the global retail. Some 6000 pre-ordered devices of Pundi X technology are being transported to the worldwide market and another more than 10,000 have been ordered for placement to the global retail sector, a spokesperson said to Cision PR Newswire.
