One of the top, UK conservative MP, Grant Shapps, has to step down from two blockchain related positions after media reports of alleging him in ICO controversy.

According to media reports, the minister was involved in the alleged undisclosed pay deal for the role of his advisory in one of the two blockchain startups which he was part of.

Grant Shapps, submitted dual resignation for his role as a chairperson of governance for a popular blockchain portal, OpenBrix. Along with, he also submitted a resignation from UK All-Party Parliamentary Group of the blockchain.

Shapps was not only a co-chair of APPG but also a co-founder, along with Tory MP. This is a serious allegation again MP and it would be interesting to see how he defends himself. This scam comes at a time when the world is battling with ICO controversy. There has been a serious to place regulations on ICO.

An ICO fraud by a minister is the last thing which digital crypto market needed. It would not only dent the confidence of people in digital currency but also make the investors insecure about their investments.

Resignation by MP came after several reports in frontline media about his potential involvement. It was stated that thousands of pounds worth of crypto coins were going to be received by the minister. It was going to take place just before the launch of OpenBrix.

According to the statement from OpenBrix, Shapps was hired to work as a consultant with the startup and allowed for token allocation. According to the reports, every BRIX token is valued for about 0.001 ETH.
