Cryptocurrency Exchange Coinomi Delists Gulden (NLG)

Cryptocurrency exchange Coinomi announced to delist NLG following a botched software update by Gulden that led to crashing of some of its servers.

In a blog post published on September 28, cryptocurrency exchange Coinomi announced to delist Gulden (NLG), the token issued by blockchain start-up, Gulden. The exchange took this decision after Gulden botched a software update that purportedly crashed some of Coinomi’s servers.

The exchange reached out for the Gulden development team’s assistance on their GitHub pages by raising a complaint pertaining to the software update issue. However, their complaints were met with unhelpful and hostile reception coupled with harsh comments from the Gulden team. No action was taken by the Gulden team to resolve the issue.

The offensive responses to the Coinomi cryptocurrency exchange’s team on their Support page also led to the hastening of this decision to delist the NLG token. After the complaint raised by Coinomi was tagged “off-topic” by the GitHub communications team at Gulden, the situation escalated. Apart from this, the complaint was closed and the offensive responses from the Gulden team were removed from the NLG GitHub page.

The exchange reached its decision to delist the token from the exchange in the first week of October 2018, owing to the unsavory behavior projected by the support team at Gulden. Coinomi has requested the investors to send their NLG to Gulden’s own wallet or to another exchange to trade it into different coins, as stated in the Bitcoin Exchange Guide report.

The Coinomi exchange in a tweet advised its customers to transfer their NLG tokens to another wallet before the token is delisted.

If the customers of the cryptocurrency exchange Coinomi do not move their NLG tokens before it is delisted, the coins won’t be lost, the exchange confirmed. Delisting a token from a wallet essentially means that the investors need to look for another software interface (wallet) to move their funds. However, they would need their private key to do that. Gulden, on the other hand, has released a statement on its social media channels stating that as opposed to being forcefully removed, they asked Coinomi to remove the token. It also added that they were even extorted for a removal fee, as stated in the TNW report.
