The U.S.-based Bittrex crypto exchange announced on September 14 that it plans to launch Bittrex Malta, on October 1, as part of its global expansion plans. Co-founder and CEO of Bittrex, Bill Shihara said at the recently held Dunamu Developer Conference on Jeju Island that this launch of Bittrex Malta will allow them to list tokens a lot faster.
Bill Shihara also emphasized the fact that the coin listing process will not only be much faster but also much easier in Malta. Malta, which is the European Union’s smallest state, has recently been emerging as the new cryptocurrency hub. No fees will be charged by the exchange for listing.
Crypto exchange Bittrex’s Malta entry will act as a boon for other global exchanges within the Bittrex network to introduce coins faster on their respective exchanges, Shihara said. This will also act as a boon for the Dunamu’s Upbit exchange in Korea. The Upbit exchange, which is one of the largest exchanges in Korea, launched its services in October last year in partnership with Bittrex.
The Bittrex exchange started offering U.S. dollar trading in May this year. The exchange, however, mentioned that it does not have any plans of adding other fiat currencies at the moment. The exchange added that it, however, intends to continue listing more digital currencies that trade against the U.S. dollar, as mentioned in the Investor report.
Crypto exchange Bittrex has recently established a subsidiary in Malta as well as Bittrex International, an affiliated company to manage all its overseas operations. Bittrex Malta is designed to operate within the regulatory framework established by the Maltese government and the European Union. The exchange mentioned that every digital asset listed on Bittrex Malta will be available for their international network of partner exchanges to launch as mentioned in the Bitcoin News report.
