Changpeng Zhao, the cryptocurrency exchange Binance CEO, talked about driving social change using blockchain technology at the Malta Conference. The conference was attended by more than 3,500 experts from the industry and government officials. Zhao discussed how blockchain technology can be used for promoting economic growth.
Zhao praised the forward-thinking leadership of Malta saying, “This is a country where the leaders and the government understand blockchain technology.” He requested the companies participating in the conference to find out ways and explore the possibilities of establishing it in Malta. Binance has been supporting Malta since long and launched the first fiat-to-crypto exchange at the start of this year in the country.
In Malta, both the government leaders and the regulators are well aware of the path and utility of blockchain technology in depth. They have a clear-cut understanding of business, financial, and technological impact of this technology and industry. Since government leaders and the regulators in Malta are open, reasonable and approachable; anyone can easily discuss startups and new ventures with them.
Apart from pioneering blockchain innovation, the industry-leaders in this country are in favor of using the technology for bringing a social change. They are seriously supporting the cause of using this technology for social good movement, Forbes reported. Apart from Binance, other important names that also participated in the DELTA summit include TRON, and Blockchain Charity Foundation (BCF).
The founders and representatives of TRON, BCF, and Binance also were invited for a private reception that was hosted by the President of Malta, her Excellency Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca. Both BCF and TRON shared their vision related to blockchain technology used for social good publicly during the reception.
TRON pledged to offer $3 million to the BCF in order to support Binance initiated social change movement of applying blockchain technology for the good of society, Bitcoin Exchange Guide reported. TRON declared its pledge after BCF announced that it will donate $1 M to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
