HSBC Mutual Fund Investment Company Introduces Equity Hybrid Scheme

HSBC Mutual Fund Investment Company has launched HSBC Equity Hybrid Fund scheme on September 28, 2018, the AMC announced the news. The NFO will remain open for subscription until October 12, 2018.

The HSBC Equity Hybrid Fund will invest mainly in equity and equity-related securities, that is, about 70 percent of its assets in equity and equity-related shares and the remaining in debt instruments.

Higher exposure in equity shares will help in achieving growth and increasing the possibility of defeating inflation, said Tushar Pradhan, Chief Investment Officer, HSBC AMC. According to him, the correct blend of asset classes will help accomplish better risk-balanced returns.

Then again, the open-ended hybrid scheme’s flexi-strategy will offer freedom to position the portfolio positively targeting to invest in better-rated credit quality securities with low capital risk and will offer “reasonable returns and stability to the portfolio,” added Pradhan.

The minimum initial investment amount of the new open-ended hybrid scheme of the HSBC Mutual Fund Investment Company is 5,000 Rupees and in multiples of one rupee thereafter. The exit load of the scheme is 1 percent when 10 percent of units are redeemed after 12 months from the date of allocation of the plan.

The HSBC Equity Hybrid Fund scheme offers Regular and Direct Plans with Growth and Dividend Options. The scheme is benchmarked against S&P BSE 200 Index (70 percent weight) and CRISIL Composite Bond Fund Index (30 percent weight).

HSBC AMC announced the launch of the HSBC Equity Hybrid Fund scheme at a press conference in Mumbai, according to Money Control. The fund house has appointed Neeloptal Sahai (for equity) and Sanjay Shah (for debt) as the fund managers of the scheme.

Mr. Shah has worked with FIL Fund Management Pvt Ltd., Lehman Bros, ICICI Bank and Robo India Finance Pvt Ltd, before joining HSBC Mutual Fund Investment Company in 2008. Mr. Sahai has worked with IDFC Investment Advisors prior to joining the HSBC fund house, according to the Economic Times.
