The BSE Sensex and NSE’s Nifty Index destroyed all early gains and turned negative, hauled predominantly by FMCG and IT stocks. The rupee was exchanging minimal changed against the US dollar in front of the result of the US Federal Reserve’s strategy meeting due later today. FIIs sold a net of Rs 1,231.7 crore in values on September 25, 2018, while DIIs bought shares worth Rs 2,284.26 crore, temporary information appeared.
The Nifty FMCG file was exchanging 1.64 percent down at 29,630 around 02:15 pm.
Shares of Godrej Consumer Products (down 1.09 percent), Tata Global Beverages (down 0.89 percent) and Procter and Gamble Hygiene and Healthcare (down 0.87 percent) too were in the red.
However, shares of Jubilant Foodworks (up 2.98 percent), United Breweries (up 2.59 percent), Emami (up 2.56 percent) and United Spirits (up 2.33 percent) saw good footing. Marico (up 1.91 percent), Colgate-Palmolive (India) (up 0.93 percent), GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (up 1.98 percent) and Dabur India (up 0.08 percent) too were exchanging the green zone.
The BSE Sensex in Nifty Index shut 109.79 points, or 0.30 percent, bring down at 36,542.27, while the Nifty 50 fell 13.65 points, or 0.12 percent, to close at 11,053.80. The BSE MidCap and SmallCap files rose 0.42 percent and 0.12 percent, respectively. Vedanta, Yes Bank, Reliance Industries and Tata Steel were among the best gainers, though Tata Motors, Wipro, ITC and SBI were among the significant failures, according to a report of Livemint.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 record was down 22 points at 11,045, while the BSE Sensex was 110 points down at 36,542. Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty list, 23 were exchanging the green, while 27 were in the red.
Indiabulls Housing Finance, Vedanta, UPL, GAIL (India) and Titan Company were among the best gainers in the Nifty file.
As per the report of Economic Times in Nifty Index Bharti Infratel, ITC, Tata Motors, HCL Technologies and State Bank of India were among the top losers in the Nifty pack of stocks.
