SegWit chain of signatures: Fact vs. Fiction

Namely, the argument that SegWit "breaks the chain of digital signatures"

Please post any/all links to technical discussion (i.e. not reposting Twitter shitposts) affirming or denying that SegWit breaks the chain of signatures, or discuss yourselves here. :)

I want to get to the truth of the matter, not just more "he said, they said" whatever shit people like to throw around.

EDIT: Thank you everybody for posting your content. I have yet to thoroughly delve into it, but I am beginning a technical journey into the heart of Bitcoin, and need all the resources I can get. This is true especially when one considers the controversy surrounding the subject of SegWit, ya dig? diiig
