Hey guys,
I am just an average trader in crypto currency and I have loved bitcoin from a long time. I feel something is happening really bad to bitcoin. I usually don't participate in any conversations but this time I felt to let my emotions out and speak for myself. Just to clarify, I have not been paid by anyone and I am writing this putting my time because I feel something is really wrong.
In the past, altcoins were criticized for not being blockchain, some were said as fork of bitcoin, some were said as incomplete altcoins and personal attacks were done on people who spoke about the new technology. Some of the points have been going on my mind which I would like to write :-
- Ethereum was criticized for the hack but sometime back bitcoin had a bug where the total supply of bitcoin could have been increased, thanks to the bug reporter he didn't do any harm. To make a mistake is human nature but than why attacking other crypto in a bad way ?
- XRP has been heavily criticized and even branded as a centralized coin but now we see LBTC ? And too make it sound so cool, it is called a Layer 2 solution ?
- Bitcoin Cash was criticized for using the name Bitcoin and now Liquid Bitcoin is created ? Why adding the word Bitcoin or BTC , it's like blockstream agenda was to use the name Bitcoin cash but man that is taken. :/
- In past, sending transaction through bitcoin was so simple. To make my transaction faster, I would increase the fees per byte and my transaction would have been much faster. LN sounds pretty cool because of fancy name, but honestly I am not going to send even 1 BTC through it as of now as it not reliable.
- Some influencers in decentralized ecosystem that support bitcoin and thrash everything apart from bitcoin are not speaking about this new LBTC? Why are voices not raised against this new offchain second layer thing ? Is it usability or is bitcoin are on the mercy of an organization ?
- The only thing new bitcoin supporters are saying is that it is an optional feature for bitcoin but do they not understand that if big exchanges are using this and customers are sending transactions using LBTC than these guys can manipulate market using LBTC ?
- Ethereum ICO's are told as scam but not all ICO's are scam, it is like taking one side of the coin. Worse than anything is that is not bitcoin is told as s**tcoin. Why so much negativity ?
Why I feel bad at this time is because I have loved bitcoins usability and the possible use cases. If people are saying bitcoin is just a store of value, than I am happy with the gold or real assets. We don't need a new currency in that case.
Everyone has a different purpose using bitcoin, some wants to use it for payments, some wants to use it for trading, some wants to use it software development, some want to hold it as store of value and a lot more things that can happen with this beautiful product.
Bitcoin has been the king but in decentralized space any crypto can be the king depending on what general public feels about it. It is really about what difference bitcoin or any other crypto is making in their lives.
