Arket store is the in-house brand of the renowned fashion house brand H&M group. The in-house brand has been making headlines due to its successful trial of new product integration which is driven by the emerging blockchain technology. The successful trial test was confirmed by the company officials in a recent update which also mentioned that the project was carried by blockchain technology developer firm VeChain.
The clothing store has been working on this minor upgrade test which aims to monitor product data in a secure manner within a given network. However, the Arket spokesperson did not reveal how many stores conducted this trial test and it how big the scale of this test run was. The testing solutions and its implications are yet to be officially announced.
Arket store is said to have completed a Proof of Concept (POC) from a pilot test conducted by VeChain which has used blockchain powered system to manage product data traceability in the utmost secured manner within the value chain. This was successfully done on wool beanie from the autumn 2018 collection. Indeed the test has done well but there has been no official confirmation of any project signed between H&M and VeChain, the deal is far from a final yes since the test evaluations are yet to be done as mentioned by The Next Web.
