Myongji Hospital from South Korea and an IT firm BiCube have joined hands to form a hybrid cloud platform based on blockchain technology to establish a decentralized database in the medical services field. The two companies recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and may introduce the service commercially in 2019.
The cloud platform developed by these two big names in their respective fields will bring together the public as well as the private blockchain networks and serve as a system facilitating the exchange of information related to healthcare. The role of technology is quite enormous in the healthcare sector and the same is true for blockchain.
The appropriate use of this technology by both BiCube and Myongji Hospital will surely lead to heartening development in the field of healthcare in South Korea. Incidentally, BiCube has its major focus on machine learning along with other IT offerings. Based in South Korea, its inter-collaborative efforts with Myongji Hospital are expected to fuel further developments in the years to come.
Hybrid Cloud Platform To Establish Decentralized Database
The project of these two companies will majorly focus on establishing a decentralized database allowing the authorized patients to upload their sensitive medical information including their respective medical histories, reported BTC Wires. This new technology will store the business medical data in a new way and will also prevent tampering of the data.
The device used for fulfilling the project will include several features like remote verification, device authentication, and physical protection via signed code and anti-piracy to ensure tamper-proof security system for data protection, as reported by Myongji Hospital. The source further added that the collaboration will provide data exchange service to the other hospitals through the inter-hospital blockchain platform using online services, but only if the patient agrees to share his information.
Only an authorized user can access the hybrid cloud platform, one who carries the VPN used for securing communication network exchange. The platform will also perform as a conduit between the hospital and the patient and relay the data and is also responsible for communication and discussions related to payment.
