At the CIX Summit conference held in the Canadian capital of Toronto on October 23, the participants discussed the role of blockchain in the future. At the conference, a panel called, ”Thoughts on Opportunities for Blockchain in the Future and how it Will Change the World” discussed in detail how blockchain technology can make the biggest impact in the future.
Moderated by the executive producer and the host of Fast Future, Michael Hainsworth, the summit also featured the managing partner and founder of Draper Associates, Tim Draper. During the discussion sessions, these people discussed how blockchain can play a significant role in the financial and healthcare services and the government areas.
While discussing why blockchain is the future Draper said things like blood test results, healthcare records, and genetic history can be clubbed together and backed by the blockchain-based technology. He further explained that blockchain is needed to maintain a perfect record and unassailable data so that these records can be accessed whenever needed, reported Investing News. Draper believes that blockchain will transform the healthcare field completely in the days to come.
Talking about the role of blockchain in the financial sector, Draper said that in the posterity no one would want the currency tied to fiat government. He further added that the virtual currencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum are borderless and decentralized. With Bitcoin being a global coin, anyone can use it wherever and whenever they want.
The discussion on why blockchain is the future has been ongoing with many major names and startups coming up with their own summits and conferences on this technology. According to Cision, Mars Blockchain Summit recently wrapped up in New York. The summit was co-sponsored by Mars Finance and Consensus Labs and was attended by a power gathering of over 1000 blockchain guests and participants.
