The primary aim of these artists is to explore the outer limits of the technology and also give subtle hints regarding its darker side. It comes on the close heels of the announcement by Christie, the celebrated institution in the art world which for the first time a few days ago auctioned a piece of art created using artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm.
Similar to Christie, Terra0 is an attempt by these three artists to push boundaries between technology and art. The name Terra0 is a mishmash of earth or terra and 0 stands for the inspiring code that highlights and challenges the idealized view of the nature of these artists. In this way, the group conceived the unique name terra0.
While discussing their art ideas and approach towards the blend of technology and art the 24-year-old fashionable Berliner, Kolling said, “The whole distinction between nature and culture is obsolete since nature is influenced directly and indirectly by society. A forest, however, is often seen as this last refuge of the natural, which deprives itself of any utilization. That’s why our technological augmentation provoked so many people.”
In nutshell, Terra0 forest automatically sells its trees and eventually using the capital thus earned will buy itself and own it as an economic unit, reported Ozy. But until then it is just an artistic experiment created with the aim to create awareness about blockchain technology.
The blend of blockchain and art ideas is here to stay. According to the executive director of Blockchain Art Collective startup, Jacqueline O’Neil, if a company is not trying to leverage this technology as of now, and then it is falling behind, reported Observer.
