Two industry giants IBM and Travelport recently announced that they are collaborating on blockchain and artificial intelligence (AI) to introduce new travel trends and launch IBM Travel Manager. The first AI-based travel platform from the two companies will manage the corporate travel spendings intelligently. The platform will use blockchain and artificial intelligence technology for helping those who want to manage their spending during travels.
The IBM Travel Manager will be created and delivered through IBM Cloud using IBM Watson capabilities for intelligently managing, tracking and predicting travel costs. Introduction of this platform can bring a revolutionary change in the way companies currently are making plans for travels and tours. The combination of Travelport’s information and IBM’s technology will help the collaboration to develop solutions that can make traveling easy to organize and cheaper.
The Travel and Transportation Industry Client Lead of IBM Elizabeth Pollock and the Chief Architect of Travelport Mike Croucher recently discussed with the media their new partnership and the possible things that can happen with this collaboration in the future.
While speaking on the changing travel trends and related issues, Croucher stated that for an average consumer traveling can be an overwhelming experience. He believes that the use of technology can make it more efficient and streamline the overall process, Forbes reported. Croucher said, “If you look at our relationship with IBM, it’s one that has been in existence since the beginning of the global distribution system (GDS).”
IBM and Travelport have been in a business relationship for more than three decades and always delivered efficient and practical solutions to its clients. According to Pollock, IBM looks into the research and development, whereas Travelport uses its knowledge and experience in the travel industry and also its data for developing solutions like IBM Travel Manager, Bitcoin Exchange Guide reported.
This ideal combination and contribution of IBM and Travelport will definitely use the best of blockchain technology and AI to deliver the best possible results and introduce new travel trends in the field.
