I like the idea of BCH a lot more, without all the difficulties of custodial wallets - as well as a block limit that was never meant to be permanent.
However, I hold a large amount of BTC (0.79BTC) and I use this as a store of value. If the value stays high, I don’t have a problem with what else is going on.
Will LN’s possible failure crash the chain, undermine confidence in the coin?
When is the best time to convert to BCH? I was thinking if I waited for the next panic-sell to $440 I could buy 10BCH, and keep the leftover BTC as change or sell it.
Also, services like Changelly will take a $60 fee to do this, what is the cheapest way to go from BTC to BCH? Preferably without exchanges
Edit: If Lightning Network fails, surely they will just raise the block limit as a last resort?
